I am now working in Armenia and need to add an Armenian language Bible to my e-sword. The Arafat Armenian Bible (1896 I think) is available free in PDF form, and on iTunes electronically. I'm not sure if a newer version is available, but this would do. What is the best way to get it into an e-sword bblx module? (I have some computer skills, and I see there is a program for creating modules, but any "quickie" advice on how-to would be greatly appreciated.) Thanks, Lynn

Thank you for pointing me to the ToolTips program. I just finished reading the Guide, in case I have to go that route.

As for the ZIP files, yes, I'll attach them to this post. Each book of the Bible is a separate file, and I've provided three formats since I wasn't sure which might be most useful: PDF, RTF and MS Word DOC.

One other thing: the font is Arafi, which is not a Unicode font. I've included it in the ZIP files as well, in case you don't have it.

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Hi

I have had a look at it.

You will have to do it on your end

start off with this

#define description=DESC

#define abbreviation=ABBR

#define comments=CMTS

#define version=1

#define strong=0

#define right2left=0

#define ot=1

#define nt=1

#define font=DEFAULT

#define apocrypha=0

÷Gen 1:1 Rijbe=h gGrkyug0 f9ijh2h yu f9ij9o rkf80fv/

Gen 1:2  F9ij9o gtg7j yu xgkg9i =9, ghxyuhxjh tgif9frjh s9g7 3gug9 ig9, fu Grkyu0y7 Lydjh ayu9f9yuh tgif9frjh s9g7 io rgug5h=9/

Gen 1:3  Grkyug0 orgu> Ny7r onng7÷, yu ny7r f8gu/

Gen 1:4  Grkyug0 kfrgu p= ny7ro eg9j =9, fu Grkyug0 ny7ro 3gug9=h bgkfv/

Gen 1:5  Grkyug0 ny7ro œvf9fi iycfv> 3gug9h gn œdj4f9 iycfv/ J9jiyuh fu g5kyu onngnysm g5gajh 19o f8gu/

You have markings that is in superscript that is connected to or related to a footnotes. You can put the footnotes at the end of the chapter like MLV bible Brad did or make a separate commentary.

what is << or >> ?

If you want a chapter heading

÷Gen 1:1 Creation (to get a soft break - Shift + Return)

Rijbe=h gGrkyug0 f9ijh2h yu f9ij9o rkf80fv/

Thanks

I have found another version of the Armenian Bible that will probably be easier to work with.

Questions: 1) should the entire Bible ultimately be in one RTF file before loading into ToolTip NT?

                  2) would the above definition settings still be valid?

                  3) I expect I need to massage the RTF files by generating each verse onto a new line, removing bolded chapter numbers, and superscripted verse numbers before loading into ToolTip NT? (I'm trying to put all the pieces of instruction that I'm finding together, but it's not easy to know just what to do step-by-step.)

Thanks,

Lynn

See the following: http://www.armenianc...narmenianbible/

From that site, I created the attached sample files.

Thank you immensely, BH!

The book of Matthew looks great!

So this is the form I will need to massage every book into, I expect, before opening it in T3?

I found some Search and Replace formulae for MS Word on this website that might do this, I think?

Then, after massaging them into this form, in order for all books of the Bible to display in e-Sword, I expect they must all go into a single large "Armenian Bible" file, to be opened in T3 and then compiled (or Copy/Paste each one consecutively into the one file in T3)?

Thanks, again. This is all new to me, so I'm slow.

Lynn
