e-Sword 10.4 is now available.

This is mostly a maintenance upgrade. For exmple, the Text Control used to render text in has been upgraded.

The e-Sword splash page (shown during loading) and the Windows icon have also been updated.

The official change log notes:

This build includes the latest versions of many components used within e-Sword. One major enhancement is the Editors now support right-to-left languages such as Hebrew.

Many little enhancements and bug fixes.

If we're going to talk about what did NOT change...

My irritation: I can't use CTRL-F to find text in a commentary, dictionary, or Bible window. CTRL-F always assumes you want to search the editors window, even when your mouse is in another window.

Throughout the world of Windows software, CTRL-F typically finds text in the active window. This is true of every e-reader or book reader, any word processor, your web browser, PDF readers like Acrobat, other Bible software--it's standard in Windows software.

This is handy for finding whether a word or phrase is used in a comment (or dictionary entry) without having to do a full search.

How about this:

When you've closed your search window, and then later open it up again and start typing, it closes the window.  It should ALWAYS allow you to type in your search immediately (like it does the first time you open it).

Also, anyone notice that if you've got something in the search window, and you want to type something else, ctrl-a doesn't work to highlight what you had entered in the search window?  Doesn't do anything.

OK, I'm done ranting.  Those are my two biggest peeves.
