Have noticed that some of the Strong's # in the NASB have a letter after them. If you scroll over them they do not show anything. I have checked some of them in other versions and some of the Strongs appear to wrong in the NASB.  Is this just my file as I purchased this quite a while ago.  I have checked and there does not seem to be an update.

Mat 1:6  JesseG2421 was the fatherG1080 of DavidG1160b the kingG935. David G1160b R1was the fatherG1080 of SolomonG4672 by N1Bathsheba who had been the wifeG1135 of UriahG3774.  NASB

The Texus Receptus in the KJV (except the variant of me; but it is still beta) used the Modern Greek spelling of the name David

Beta in Modern Greek sounds like Veta.

Just like Abraham and Avraham in Hebrew

δαβιδ(Dabid) as in all the Textus Receptus  versions until my version.

δαυιδ(David) as in every other Greek source

The LXX supports δαυιδ(David)

The NASB used an alternative Strong numbering because the numbers are  already filled.

If memory serves AND IT MAY NOT  THe NASB is the only bible that uses Esword's extended features inline references popup Notes etc. notice the N1 by Bathsheba

here is the memory part I think there was a special dictionary module that came with NASB and has to be chosen as your popup dictionary

G1160b would mean that there is, a and b definitions and then you would look at the b section

but like i said i could be wrong

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Memory is a great thing.  Wish mine worked better.  I had removed the NASEC file,  had to dig it out and reinstall. Now everything works as it should.

Thank you for the help.

is it possible to have the Strong's #'s Tooltips set up for 2 versions at once somehow?  The KJV+ AND NASB+ versions for example, so that I can see the tooltips formatted for the KJV when mousing over those Strong's #'s and see the NASB tooltip notes when mousing over those?

Hi Ed,

In short, No!

Now for the longer answer:

e-Sword Strong's Tooltip option allows only one Strong's numbered dictionary to be selected to be viewed in a tooltip. There isn't a compare type option for dictionaries as a tooltip. However, within the Strong's Tooltip option, one does have the option to select a different Strong's numbered for the Old Testament and the New Testament, i.e., for the O.T I have selected the BDB dictionary, and for the N.T. I have selected Thayer's Greek Definitions dictionary to view in the tooltips.

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful than this.

Blessings,
