Hi there. I have a significant collection of eSword Topic Notes that I would like to get into MySword on my Kindle Fire, properly formatted.

First, I'm not sure if I am expecting too much of the conversion utilities, or if I am missing something.  I use headings, paragraphs with indents, and bulleted and numbered lists for great looking notes in eSword.

I can copy and past these notes into Word for Windows and copy the doc files to the Kindle, and they look just like they do in eSword, Great, except that the scripture hotlinks don't work in Word, of course.

I can use the 'theWord File Importer" and Word Conversion Utilities to convert the *.topx file to MySword, and the scripture hotlinks work great, but the formatting is all askew.  No headings, all the font is one size and all is bold.  Paragraphs are sporadic, and indented lists are indented too far or not enough.

Am I expecting too much of the importer and conversion tools, or perhaps there is more that I need to do?

Thanks,

Stan

feldsine,

Try the following:

1.  Open up theWord with your module installed.

2.  Find your module in theWord

3.  Hover over the module name, right click, and select "module properties"

4.  Select the 2nd tab and scroll to the bottom.  You should see a combo box with various actions that you can perform on the module.

5.  Run the "detect all verse references routine".  This converts the module to .rvf format.

6.  Run the "convert module content to rtf.." routine.

7.  Complete both steps 5 and 6 one more time

8.  Try converting the module to MySword again

The above steps often (not always) fix formatting modules.  If the above steps do not give you the desired results you can also try converting the module to .rvf format by completing step 5 above again and then converting to MySword again.  Some modules convert better to MySword from .rvf format.

It may take a bit of trial and error, but you should be able to get it into MySword looking good.

Blessings,

Peter
