Hello all,

Say, I was just wondering if it's possible yet to change locations for where e-Sword stores personal data and what have you. I know that in the past it didn't offer this, and it's not the end of the world if it doesn now. Just wondering.

Next, I know that you can back up the stuff out of My Documents, but here's does backing up \Program Files (x86)\e-Sword will allow you to restore e-Sword back to the way it last was if it, say, goes belly up and you have to reinstall the program.

Thanks much,

Starkman

Hi Starkman,

You can have e-Sword read your modules from a different location. Example: usb (memory stick) or an external hard drive.
1. Open up e-Sword
2. At the top, click on Options
3. Scroll down to Resource Location
4. Choose where you want to read from
(If things don't go the way you want, click on Help, and select Reset e-Sword)

You can back up all your modules. Go to where your modules are located example: Program Files (x86)\e-Sword. You can backup your modules by using a usb, external hard drive, or the cloud. But e-Sword cannot read the modules from the cloud. (As I know of)

If all fails, read the manual.

Thanks

Ok, wait one second here. Just hold your horses, patch!  ...read the manual? Really? What kind of person are you? Read the manual? Boy, the nerve! (I'm just stunned...I can't believe......read the manual?)

Manual, pg 52, didn't see this...didn't think it was there because of other posts... (read the manual?)...

Be rest assured, patch, that if after having read the manual (really? I have to read the manual?) I tell you solemnly, in the immortal words of Terminator 1, "I'll be back!"

(Oddly enough, I had been reading the manual about six months ago, but I must have not noticed pg 52.)

Thanks much,

Starkman

(mumblinb to myself..."I can't believe this. Read the manual?)

hi Starkman,

I did not mean that in a nasty mean way, (forgive me). I was not sure if you read the manual.  I was writing in a rush way

I was simply trying to help. not disrespect you.

thanks

Oh, heavens, no worries at all, patch. I've dispatched a drone to destroy any and all of your manuals so that we will never have this discussion again!

Really, thanks. No problem at all.

Now, as for you, exscentric, I've dispatched a drone, but it will deal with more than your manuals!

Take care all,

Starkman

I'm not telling, but can you move over a bit...I can't see what's on your television!

(I used to do call-center technical support for camera-sharing software like Skype, and I'd pull that on customers once in a while, especially if they asked me, "Can you see me right now," and their computer wasn't even on! So, I'd say, yes, but can you move over a bit, I can't see out the window" or something like that, and boy, the silence on the other end!)
