I noticed after reinstalling esword, and then copying all my bibles, and dictionaries to my resource folder, esword was really fast when I clicked on a verse tooltip, but then I copied all the commentaries to the resource folder, now its really slow again when I click on a verse tooltip.

Is this normal? it takes 5 to 10 seconds of thinking before it opens the verse. I have 82 commentaries maybe that's too many.

Thanks,

Chet

I  have over 200 commentaries, but depending on what I am working on, I generally only have about 20-30 loaded.  The more commentaries you have loaded longer the lead time.

Thus says the LORD, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, (Jeremiah 9:23-24a)

"Defenders of the faith are inclined to be bitter until they learn to walk in the light of the Lord. When you have learned to walk in the light of the Lord, bitterness and contention are impossible." --Oswald Chambers, in Biblical Psychology from The Quotable Oswald Chambers.

I found another post on here realated to this, which pretty much answered my questions.

Someone said if you keep the synchronize button turned off, I tried that and it works great, everything is lightening fast now.

I started out removing some of the larger commentaries, which helped some, but now I'm going to put them back in, now that I know having that button turned off works.  Just have to get in the habit of turning it off when I'm done.
