I just got a new Dell Venue Pro 8 that runs the full version of Windows 8.1 (not RT).  It is snappy, has a beautiful (though only 1240 x 800 resolution) screen, and easily installs the latest PC version of e-Sword.  The only problem I am running into are my clunky fingers and navigating with them on-screen.  Too bad there are not skins that could be used to "fatten" things up a bit.  Has anyone else run into a nice way to work around this problem?  Suggestions would be appreciated!

Searcher....

Would a Stylus or a Wireless Mouse work for you (or a super small mouse on a wire).....after you enter the Program ? If the USB port is a problem....maybe a BlueTooth Mouse.

As for the problem of "Fat Finger"....I had the same problem when I bought my Kindle....and believe it or not.... the "Fat Finger" does go away ! Thats all I got !!

I have just purchased the Dell Venue 8 as well and am extremely excited about a mini E-sword capable device to travel with. You can find very inexpensive Bluetooth mouses on Amazon. I got an HP x4000 Bluetooth for $14.99 on there. Once you get a nice mouse you're E-sword will be flawless on that device. I've played around with a member of my churches Dell and helped him with E-sword on there as well and he's extremely satisfied. However, there have been stylus issues with the Dell but hopefully they should be cleared up soon. A Bluetooth mouse will be an extremely worthwhile investment for your new device (if you're up for spending some more money look at the Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition, it folds to the size of a small smartphone, that's what I'll be using)!

Best of luck!

I found on my Acer that the finger tap may not be all that accurate in all places on the screen.  You might take one control and tap on and around to see if it works a little off point.  Mine in the upper right corner is just outside the box .

Calibration might also help though esword arrows are tiny.  Wireless mouse makes it doable on mine also.

It seems that the mouse will probably be the best solution.  I was hoping not to have to use any external devices.  I can imagine that it would be mega work to create a new interface for e-Sword.  But if anyone has any other great ideas, they would be much appreciated.  I must say if anyone is interested in a Windows 8 tablet, this Dell Venue Pro 8 is a real gem.

With older versions of Windows it was easy to make the scroll bars wider which may help but I've not tried with Win 8.1.  While I can navigate eS fairly well with my tablet (Toshiba Satellite U925t) it would be nice to have larger buttons like the ribbon in MS Office 2010.

I just installed e-sword on my Asus T100 tablet. Unfortunately, without a mouse (and preferably keyboard) it is kinda useless.  I am also now looking for a good all-round Windows tablet offline Bible readin program...

There are some in Metro if you like using it.  Logos has one and you can access your books if you have regular logos.
