Running Linux (Mint 13) and using lastest Wine update. Last week downloaded and installed the "Word Dictionary(s). Worked as expected.

Yesterday, downloaded e-Sword 10.2 and have lost the Strongs "popups" etc. Have I misconfigured the e-Sword program, or is there a switch I need to select?

 Thank in advance.

I've reset e-Sword back to defaults. Still no Strongs numbers popups?

Just clarifying: you are using the Word Study dictionaries from AMG or some other dictionary?

Try this. In the topic editor, type: Sample H3 text. Then hover over H3. Does it show a strong's popup?

Rick,

Within Editors/Topic Notes, I am unable to make any entries.

DSHAW: Can't see a change. Drop down menu, for both Old and New Testiments are; Strong's/Word Dictionary/NASB+. Have selected "Word Dictionary,  with no change

No popup window in Bible, but in "Commentaries"/TSK there are popups and bottom line indicates information provided by KJV+

Remembering that this is a Linux Box running Linux Mint 13. Also, making sure I understand "Topic Editor".

Bob,

Without being able to reproduce it on a Windows computer, I'm afraid your report will be explained away as a Linux issue.

You might CTRL-Right click in the Topic Editor and create a new Topic Note file, maybe in a new folder. Then try to add text. The only thing I can think of is e-Sword isn't liking the location of the Topic file it's trying to write to in your Linux environment.

Bobm2,

I don't use Wine for e-Sword, but run Mint and Windoze 7 in separate partitions on the same machine. If yours is strictly a Linux PC, you may want to try running Windoze XP under Virtual Box (VB). Find the latest and cheapest copy of XP you can (e-Bay and similar auction sites?) and install Windoze XP under VB, then install e-Sword in XP there. You won't get many more OS updates. As you are probably already aware, though, you will be subject to farrrr-r-r less attacks by malware, viruses, and all the other junk you have to worry about with Windoze by running it in a virtual machine under Linux. I can give you a link to some absolutely excellent advice on installing and configuring VB if you're interested. I probably even have it in a .pdf file on my PC at home and can attach it to an e-mail if  you'd like.

HTH!
