How do I turn off my Chat-Room popups?

I try to disable popup notifications by checking the small box indicated - it means nothing, the popups keep rolling out, like the Red Sea flowing back onto Pharaohs Army!  LOL.

I cannot find any way to turn off this annoying function.  Things would be different if I were not working with such a small  screen

Try this,

The lower right of your screen (browser window) has a little gear icon.

Left click it.

Check mark the box "Disable Pop-Ups.

You can also select "Not Available" but that choice never seems to "Stick" for me.

Maybe this well help.

Howdy Roy!

I read your answer to my question and just laughed!  Why?  I entered this world as a breech baby (buttocks first) and the rest of my life seems to have proceeded accordingly.

You see brother, my functional link to BibleSupport chat rooms is just the opposite of yours!  When I pick the "Not Available" function of Chat Options, it becomes underlined as long as the cookie stays in my FireFox browser.  A little red dot will appear down at the bottom, by the man's  silhouette and then people cannot contact me via chat.  Should I sign out of BibleSupport for a while, then sign back in, it appears that everything has been re-set.

However, when I check-off "Disable popup notifications" there is no discernible affect taking place - popups continue their happy little march onto my screen.   Very frustrating at times, constantly having to move the pages text with the scroll wheel so that I can read.

Been travelling since Monday and just now checking in here.

Does anyone believe the chat offers any value to the website?

You use it regularly?

You never use it?

You wish it weren't here at all?

Hi

I like the chat area at the bottom right hand corner (Who's OnLine), I do not use the chat room (bottom far left). The Who's Online is excellent.

Thank you

I attempted to host a group chat once; I ended up "dragging" Josh and Peter in; and then one other guy stopped in for about 15 seconds. To me, the chat room is unnecessary.

I have used the IM occasionally to chat with a couple of other bibsuppers. It's a lot faster than trying to have a conversation via email.

Over the time BibleSupport has hosted a 'chat' function I have initiated one conversation, and been the recipient of perhaps10-15 conversations.  Most of the conversations I have been the recipient of were requests for help.  Sometimes I could help - sometimes not.

I believe that 'chat' does have a function on this site, but the constant intrusiveness of 'chat' popups is, for me, the point of contention - or issue.
