I cant find anywhere The Lexham English Bible without notes that includes both the Old and New Testaments. There are 8x and 9x versions without notes but they are New Testament only. Can any one help?

The original poster (Richard) had asked for the LEB without notes. The txt file has notes. It took me forever (and a bunch of google time:) but...) you can use a regex search & replace to dump those notes.

The combination that I finally found to work was

<note:.*?>

I used openoffice 3.4.1 writer to do the edit test. I don't know much about actually making the esword bblx file though. At least you can play with the txt version until then.

Or you can try this Lexham w/o notes.

hi all,

I have started this bible if somebody can finish it.

Attached File  The Lexham English Bible OT NT.zip   1.68MB   3 downloads

If you want to finish this bible, this is what I you can do.

look at gen 1:31 - Gen 2:1 and Exo 1:1.  Follow what I have started

You might want to compare it with what is on this site.

thanks

Hi Gang,

I am working on this module. I think I am mostly finished but still need to spell check the file. I have a post in another area asking for a names/places/words list to help make the job easier. I'll let you know when the work is ready.

Hi Patchworkid,

Actually, I already have the original file you provided a link to (the txt file found on Lexham's site) edited down.

I removed the notes completely (enclosed by <> brackets), changed the text inclosed by curly brackets {} to brown, and removed the brackets. And finally changed the text enclosed in square brackets [] to a gray color, italicized the text and then removed those brackets.

This makes the formatting appear the same as found in the Lexham Bible with notes.

My issue now i that I need/want to spell check the work. I know for a fact that there are some entries with missing spaces, so you end up with something likethis. I do not want to release a module that has errors in it that I could have/should have corrected.

When I start the spell check, my word processor does not have the OT/NT names-places-etc in it's dictionary. So the process is taking forever, stopping on words that are correct, but the system just doesn't know that they are correct, because these words are not included in it's spell checker.

Therefore I need a word list that has all of the correct spellings included in it, so that I can add this list to the word processor.

Roy

I already have the LEB OT/NT without notes built in BBLX.  Is there not a version available here?  I have it for the iPad/iPhone also.

BH.

When you search for Lexham, you find 4 results.

These two say they are w/o notes.

This version is NT only

and this one is e-Sword version 8

The other two entries are with notes.

My search for LEB returned no results. So, I guess the answer to your question is, No there is currently no (bblx) module on the site for the Lexham bible, both testaments, without notes. (Unless I overlooked it, which *is* entirely possible.

Even if it turned out that there was one present, this has still been a good learning experience for me, (It let me get my module makin' feet wet :D

Check out the attached file.  If it is what you are looking for, then we can post it as a module for download.  NOTE - the Tab Name is "LEB."  There is a dot after the LEB.
