I have a Lenovo Idea Pad Yoga...(Ultrabook). It operates as a Lap Top or Tablet...11" screen....works very nicely; but I would be hesitant to recommend one smaller. I use it w/ a wireless Mouse....mostly because there is a pretty good size "Learning Curve"....

when you go from Mouse to Touch Screen......slows ya down a little bit. But to put this in perspective.....I'm an "Old Dog" trying to

learn "New Tricks".....or maybe UN-learn old tricks. My overall opinion is after you get your e-Sword going on a Windows 8 Tablet

you'll ask yourself>>>>>"Why did I wait so long"? I Teach from it (using the Mouse) 100% of the time.....and use it in the Pew most of the time now that I've gotten used to the Touch Screen Tricks.

I am using e-Sword with my Acer Iconia 10.1 inch tablet.  It woks fine when I use my Bluetooth mouse, but otherwise my fingers are too big to reliably control it via the touch screen.

Since most tablets have Bluetooth capability built in this leaves the USB port  available.  The idea of having a USB hub hanging off the side of my tablet held no interest.

Bluetooth keyboard and mouse was the way to go, especially since the keyboards often double as cases for the tablet.  Bought on line they are fairly reasonable (Got mine for about $25)  Bluetooth Mice can be had for as low as $6 on line.

Thus says the LORD, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, (Jeremiah 9:23-24a)

"Defenders of the faith are inclined to be bitter until they learn to walk in the light of the Lord. When you have learned to walk in the light of the Lord, bitterness and contention are impossible." --Oswald Chambers, in Biblical Psychology from The Quotable Oswald Chambers.

Can someone advice me which kind of Tablet works well with E-SWORD? Thanks.

There is an official Esword app for the ipad.  It's the only reason I still have an ipad.  It has a few weakness compared to other ipad bible apps.

I'm considering getting a Surface pro when they release the next version later this year.  It would be nice if they made a touch friendly Esword app for windows 8 or windows 10.  I'd pay $50 for it without thinking twice.

Hi Tim,

I agree with you. I Have a Samsung Galaxy 12.2" Note Pro, of which I use a BT (Bluetooth) mouse with it, and works great with it. Also I am using the BT mouse on my PC, and have no issues with it. I've got a BT keyboard for my tablet, and works great on that.

Now, just a note on BT (Bluetooth). BT is really great to use as one can connect a large number of devices with it. On my tablet I have so far 4 devices paired to it, which are:

  1. PC
  2. Phone
  3. Keyboard
  4. Mouse.

I can connect BT Speakers, and other devices to it and run them. I am seriously considering getting some BT speakers and use them for both my phone and tablet, and may consider using them on PC. Another handy BT device I'm seriously considering of getting is a BT headset for my phone.

Bluetooth seems to be a really handy thing to have, and what one can run via BT is really up to the imagination.

Blessings,

P.S. Off the top of my head, I think 1 BT port can connect to 150 BT compatible devices.

If you didn't have that issue before, what has changed, or what did you change?

Surface is Microsoft, that Forbidden might be because it is set up to  "only allow downloads from the Microsoft store".

Might be a box you can check or un-check to allow DLs from outside sources.  I didn't have any problem when I was running my ACER tablet on 8.0 or 8.1.  Running it on 10 now still no problems.
