Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings. There's an error 404 that pops up when you click on that link. It appears that the page doesn't exist

Perhaps you were not aware that when the 2011 edition of the New International Version was released, the previous unsold books were recalled from book sellers, worldwide. The booksellers then only sold the new copies. This is how the NIV (2011) became a best seller so quickly. Digital copies of previous versions were systematically removed from internet access. Biblica is a non-profit organization that translates and publishes Bibles in various languages around the world. The organization is headquartered in Colorado, USA.

A special note to our friends
BibleWorks served the church for 26 years by providing a suite of professional tools aimed at enabling students of the Word to “rightly divide the word of truth”. But it became increasingly apparent over the last few years that the need for our services had diminished to the point where we believed the Lord would have us use our gifts in other ways. As of June 15, 2018 BibleWorks ceased operation as a provider of Bible software tools. We made this announcement with sadness, but also with gratitude to God and thankfulness to a multitude of faithful users who have stayed with us for a large part of their adult lives.
Mac/PC Support
Can I continue to use BibleWorks on a PC?
If you have a valid license for BibleWorks 10 you can continue to use the program as usual. We will, Lord willing, continue to provide compatibility fixes for BibleWorks 10 well into the future. This will ensure that you can continue to use the program for the long term. Compatibility updates will be provided through the normal updater mechanism within the program.
What about the Mac version of the program?
BibleWorks updates for the PC will also work on the Mac platform. We will do our best to insure [ensure] compatibility of BibleWorks 10 with future Mac OS changes but the situation is more complex than with the PC platform. The coming macOS versions require 64-bit programs. BibleWorks is in good shape for this, and we will soon release a full x64 Mac Installer dmg. We will also be working with CodeWeavers to explore options for them to continue compatibility support for the BibleWorks Mac Installer. Finally, in any case, Mac users will likely be able to fall back to using a virtual machine (like Virtual Box, Fusion, or Parallels).
BibleWorks10 installation requires activation code purchased before July 1, 2018. Please note: BibleWorks products are no longer available for purchase or licensing.

Olaf,

Nope, that's not true. That is false! The 1984 Edition of the NIV still can be bought from eStudySource. Click on the image below, and check the first line in the Premium section of the screenshot.

Hello Stephen (also known as APsit190), Why did you only do half an investigation?
Please return to the e-Sword for Windows PC option "Download", in English, Premium section, click on the "NIV84" entry, on the Title, "1984 New International Version". You will NOT see an option to obtain a new link to download this. There is NO CONTENT LINK in the "Info" column.  What you will see, instead is the message in red, "If you previously purchased this module for any e-Sword app, then just enter your Email Address and Product Key you received to install it again.
Then Rick Meyers provides text boxes to contain the Email Address, Product Key, Validate, and also an option to Recover Product Key of a previously purchased copy during the years when this option was still being made available by the copyright holder. Since the provision of the 2011 edition, the copyright of the 1984 NIV is such than no new module copies are for sale using the previous copyright translation. The reason is that English has changed, and some of the previous contents in the NIV 1984 has been deleted. .

The Committee on Bible Translation is very explicity. As I copied from my previous reply:

For use of the NIV:
Zondervan is granting permission for the latest edition of the NIV text only (currently 2011.) We are not granting permission for use of the earlier editions or version of the NIV text.

Here is a comment I received in email 2017.

The Sinful Nature was removed from the NIV version. The African writer, Augustine, invented the term, being influenced by gnostics, as the term is not mentioned in the first few centuries of Christianity.

He invented it to support his favourism to baptise babies as the true Christians were saying they are innocent until the age of accountability. Historically, he also promoted the gnostic idea that babies are born sinners and that Jesus did not come in the flesh of human, that He wasn't fully human whilst on earth conflicting with clear scripture passages Hebrews 2:7 and verse 14, Romans 8:3 and 1 John 4:3. Therefore Christ cannot be our example as He wasn't fully human. Augustine through the concept of the sinful nature believe we remain that way until Christ comes back conflicting with Pauls statement in Romans chapter 6, the new birth and being like Jesus. He also confused 1f615.png what a sinner is. Paul defined what a sinner is in Gal 2:15 meaning anyone outside of Christ, Gentiles, someone outside of the covenant etc. It was changed to anyone who sins. Anyone who knows history of theology will be already familiar with these facts concerning Augustine and His influence on Catholic and protestant doctrines. Martin Luther who read and adored Augustine believed in the 'sinful nature' sincerely and so did Calvin. The modern bibles of the NIV, the most popular recent bible translation, along with the NTL used it in their translations. But nowhere is it found in the original Greek text. The KJV does not have it as it was not influenced by Calvin.

Now the term which is foreign to the bible and to the original texts has been removed from the NIV version as it was seen as error - SINFUL NATURE. About time too as we should not add to scripture that God did not inspired. God who creates life cannot make sin. Rather hold unto ideas and concepts He did Psalms 139, Luke 1:15, Luke 2:23, Ecc 7:21, John Chapter 9. And so many other texts..

Read the article below, glad some people have discernment to see historical errors in the NIV that never appears in the older versions like the King James Version. The correct term is not 'sinful nature' but FLESH. Different biblical meaning and application altogether. Many good people have sadly fallen for this error of no fault of their own as they could not read the Greek. Praise be to God that truth is being spread.

Read this article below by copying and pasting in your browser. Must read!:

https://escapetoreal...have-a-sinful…/

To translate "flesh" as "sinful nature" favors the Calvinistic view of depravity of man in his total nature (Baird 185).

Romans 7:18; 13:14; Galatians 5:13 and other passages in the NIV render the Greek word sarx "sinful nature." The ASV renders the Greek word "flesh." "Sinful nature" in the NIV is the old Calvinism of original sin. Besides that, in Romans 8:6 the NIV is inconsistent because there they render the same Greek word "sinful man." They should have rendered the Greek word sarx "flesh" and left the explanation to others (Merideth 86).

Dr. David Scaer, a Lutheran professor at Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, says the NIV "in many places adjusts passages to fit a Calvinist, and sometimes Fundamentalist, bias" ("NIV Often Adjusts. . . " 1).

So what! You can still get it; that's the point! Anyway, it doesn't matter because in reality one is still able to get one's dirty paws of a digital copy of the 1984 NIV albeit as a pdf document. Click here to see and/or download.

Official is official and most don't care because there's heaps of them on the internet if one wants one.
