My feeling is that Rick is an apple snob. It's quite a common illness among apple culture.
So, feel lucky there is even a PC version. The fact that android dominates the market by no small margin doesn't matter.
I wouldn't hold my breath as I'm sure he's had multiple thousands of requests for this over the years, many with the offer to pay for it, with no hint of ever becoming reality.

There was only a PC version for many years. e-Sword for Apple is the new kid on the block, so I think that you're wrong.

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I don't know how similar the windows and the mac version of e-sword are. But what I can see is that the windows version is made in VB6, a programmers dinosaur but yet powerfull. I don't know what plattform was used to create 'e-sword X' but I know for sure that 'converting' the code from VB6 to whatsoever Android plattform takes as much time as building a new and complete clone of e-sword in whatever language from scratch.

I assume that 'e-sword X' was made new from scratch and I would be surprised if the programmer would start with a new third language/plattform from scratch.

It was started from scratch. As for the Programming language, my best guess is that it was one of these:

  1. Swift (a total revamp of Objective C) or
  2. C++ of which can be used on any platform.

The UI of e-Sword X has most of everything that e-Sword PC has and does a great deal of e-Sword PC does. With that said, I think Mac users who use to have a Windows PC and used e-Sword or ran e-Sword using Crossover, or a similar WINE program on a Mac, and now use e-Sword X can tell you/us better in regard to what the similarities and differences are between the two platforms of e-Sword.

Blessings,
