I started using ToolTip NT yesterday, and am adding a Xhosa Bible to e-Sword.  Great tool, Thanks!

Two minor issues at this point, curious that they weren't referenced elsewhere.

1) Running the Tooltip tool results in a keystroke underscore between the book name and the chapter reference, in addition to formatted underscore (Gen_1:1) - can't see it here (but it's there!), you can see the double in the Tooltip NT editor.

-- The problem is the keystroke underscore -- I have to do a Find/Replace all "_" with " " in order to not get multiple syntax errors when saving as a bblx file.

-- Reading the documentation, the underscore is intentional, am I the only one having issues with this?

2) Minor issue, but find/replace and related operations are extremely slow using the editor.  I'm on an Precision M6300, no slouch of a machine, and it takes forever to run operations.  I do what I can in other editors, but about 75% of my time is spent waiting...

I hope this didn't come out as bashing -- it's a great tool and I'm excited to be able to use it often.  I'm hoping there's a checkbox somewhere that I forgot to tick that'll make everything OK.

1. Brent usually like to see the error message can you post a screen shot or i seem to remember it has a copy to clipboard feature

2. when T4 (tooltip NT) gets slow for me its usually the file size splitting the file up and working with smaller files then combining at the end works for me

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Sorry, I was being lazy.  "Copy to clipboard" doesn't work, but here's the text (I think I transcribed it right!):

re: 2 - It was slow even when I was just working with a single book.  The same find & replace that took 3 seconds using Word or OO Write took almost a full minute in the editor.

Just use a different font [Tahoma or Segoe UI] and you won't see the underscore. With Trebuchet MS you will see this.

It's not an aesthetics issue, it's a functionality issue.  When saving as bblx, I get the error identified above if the keystroke underscore exists, which it always does after running the ToolTip function.

When making a Bible Project, there is no need to run the tooltip routine, which is when the underscore is inserted.  The underscore is needed by e-Sword in NON-Bible modules to display "tooltips" balloons for scripture references.  That said, it would probably be easy enough to just allow an underscore in the routine you indicated by your error message.

Find and Replace, are you using the Ctrl+H version, which should run fast, or the Ctrl+Shift+R version which will run slow?

BH, thanks, I think that resolves it:  don't run Tooltips, but to satisfy my OCD, running Markup References appears to be sufficient for formatting the scripture references.

Re Find & Replace - I use both, Ctrl+H is faster, but still pretty slow even on my currently 2MB file.  I need Ctrl+Sh+R for a special character that I need to remove from the source text of the Xhosa Bible I'm drawing from.

If my Markup References comment above is correct, I can live with the rest, especially since Markup doesn't do the keystroke underscore.

Thank you Thank you.

Markup does not do anything but color Bible references.  It is not needed either.  Full Book Name will format the Bible references without underscore.  I

BTW - I have a "fix" for the underscore issue for the next release.

As for speed, you are free to use any other program you'd like to create modules.  :-)

Note - you can used other editors do your editing such as MS Word, or OO.

Thanks, BH.  Sorry if the speed talk came out as whining... just figured I was doing something wrong.  It's a great tool, was able to do a whole bible in isiXhosa in just a few 'sessions' over a few days.  Now all I have to do is actually learn the language!

The underscore issue I do believe is fixed and in the latest release, which was uploaded today.
