Hi Josh,
When I download Ellicott Commentary, which creates ellicott.cmtx dated 2014/03/19 and goto Commentary, and then select Ellicott, then select option Commentary, Information. Then in the Commentary Information module, there are information lines with black text on black background. This occurs in the introduction lines, and also at the lines at the end of the books ending with Revelation.

Please could these lines in the Commentary Information be updated by the background changed to white, in the relevant lines of text in the Elliot Information pop-up window where all the details of the source and author and printing details are to be provided. Thank you. I am using e-Sword version 12.1.0 on Microsoft 64-bit.

Experiencing the same thing too - same set up.

Often this happens if text is copied from a HTML (Web Page).

When pasted into Word or a similar .RTF editor you must set the

background to "White" by clicking on the "Paint" bucket in Word (2010).

This makes the text visible and there will be no weird background colors

displaying in an e-Sword module, which prevent a user from being able

to read the text in a module.  This can happen in the information panel

or in the Commentary Window (i.e. Book Notes, chapter notes, or 

Verse Notes.)  I see this quite often when I make a module while editing

some of the text in Word.   If I paste text from a Web page or other 

formatted document and forget to highlight all the text and click on the

little Paint bucket in the Word Menu Bar, the problem shows up in

a compiled module.....    djmarko53

Would it be possible to add an option to provide access to the Preface, and to the Introduction, chapters for each entry? For the Bible, and the Commentaries, only the chapters of the text portions are currently provided for.

For the Preface click on Bible and information Or Commentary and information.

For Commentaries are there 3 Book icons B C V (Book Chapter Verse).

With reference to reply by Katoog 08 March 2020 to query by Olaf Bacon 08 March 2020, I refer to Preface to the whole collection of books, that is to the Bible as a whole, not just to an individual book of the Bible. See for example http://www.usccb.org...bible/index.cfm where there is a preface to the whole Revised New American Bible, and Introduction sections prior to the divisions of the Bible, and to many individual books in the Bible as well. At present many of such chapters have not been scanned for inclusion in the content in e-Sword for many of the published editions of the Bible. The Revised Version published in 1881 in the UK contained different Introduction chapter, by a different author, in comparison to the edition published in the USA. The KJV (1611) contains a chapter "The Epistle Dedicatory", and "The Translators to the Reader", a chapter for the days of the calendar month, including length of the moon month, times of sunrise and sunset, with readings for Psalms and Bible lessons to be said at Morning and Evening Prayer, for example; among many in the introductory section, which is not included in the e-Sword edition. The Revised New Jerusalem Bible Study Edition (RNJB) 2019, contains Forward, Preface, as well as introductions to most of the individual books, or pairs of books, of the contents of the Holy Bible Revised New Jerusalem Bible Study Edition (2019), as well as footnotes on many pages.

Avoid cutting and paste from google, use firefox.  google copies all codes.  You could say overprotective or overdoing it.  however good to know the above info about kicking the bucket.   ["Paint" bucket]

After download, run the files, to provide access to two files, which you now need to move to the computer drive, and the folder where you have your e-Sword Resources Location, such as in This PC > Windows (C:) > C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword

You will then view the content of these two file through e-Sword Reference Library window. Before you can view the newly installed resource(s), you must re-start e-Sword.

Please see comments for  "Pett, Peter - Commentary on the Bible and Library Collection (55 volumes) Updated 3" where the cmtx and refx files contain some pages with background color which is not white.

The Book of Acts - translated by American Bible Union version (1858). Please will someone update http://www.biblesupp...n-version-1858/ so that it will work correctly with e-Sword version 12.1.0 (Microsoft operating system).  The file is ABU-Acts.bbli and is NOT in PDF format, so should be applicable to both Apple Mac and Microsoft systems.
