A few things here, folks.
This is not an "all roads lead to God" website. Try uploading content and notice the theological warning. However, I do host theological content I disagree with. Catholic users are welcome here. If they weren't, I wouldn't host Catholic modules. I even recently made a Bible module with Apocrypha that mostly appeals to Catholics. A lot of our study material has value to Protestants and Catholics alike.
The agree/disagree system is designed to discourage grandstanding and pontification posts that have little value to everyone else. Historically, we've had a problem with that from "legacy e-Sword" users. Maybe there's a better way...to date, I've not found it.
I never noticed the reputation displayed on a user's profile. I removed that reputation from showing on a user's profile. It's not my goal to keep track of a user's agree/disagree points. The agree/disagree system is used to try to let the forums be "self moderating" (so those who like to pontificate and grandstand are discouraged from doing so).
Grandstanding isn't the issue in this post. It's a catholic user who feels he was "brushed off" by an admin (me). Listen, I run this website--I don't run e-Sword. I don't create premium e-Sword modules. I don't negotiate deals with publishers. I don't sell e-Sword modules. Only e-Sword.net does that. If you want a commercially sold Catholic Bible for e-Sword (and the owner is not willing to freely give it away), go to e-Sword.net to ask for it. Respectfully: if you want conflict, go somewhere else.
