MySword 3.4 is out!

See this link for all changes: http://www.mysword.i...id-3-4-released

Text to Speech

My favorite is the new text to speech feature which is available for the free version. You can now have MySword read any translation I want while driving in the car or laying in bed, ect...

It is recommended that you get a human like voice from the google play market. I like the English Amy from Ivona. This is free while it is in beta.

If you long tap the "Play" button, you can change the text to speech settings.

Your default voice has to be set through the android device settings.

See play button in the lower right hand corner:

This is the screen that pops up if you "long tap" the play button:

Background Music

MySword also allows you to put instrumental music .mp3 files in the MySword/music folder that will play in the background while the Bible is being read to you via text to speech.

I put my favorite instrumental music in the folder and created my own dramatic audio Bible :).

Pete,

Can you put up a sample audio file of your Brit reading something to us?

I use MySword on my phone and really enjoy it. It has true support for searching and rendering greek and hebrew. It's evolved into a very well rounded app.

On the phone, don't forget to scroll the icons at the bottom to see more options, such as the play icon.

Thanks for this information!

As far as background music that would complement the reading, do you have any suggestions/help for that? I did a search online, and cannot find anything, but would like to have some help for this as to what would be a great complement for this new option.

Thanks again!

That would be a personal preference thing...

I saw the movie "The Rock" a long time ago that where the background music was all instrumental. I purchased the soundtrack a long time ago because I like to listen to that music when I jog and meditate on the scriptures. I know that sounds strange...

I tried that in the background and I like it.

Thanks Peter, I will look into background music and see what I think sounds OK.

To listen to the different voices from Ivona simply go here:

http://www.ivona.com/us/

You can even type what you would like the voice to say and it will read it back to you.

Simply choose a voice from the dropdown box and hit play.

This is a great comfort functionality for me since before this I usually copy and paste the words of GOD in balabolka in which I also helped to translate from English to Filipino, and then hear it from balabolka or @voice in android, now no more need for the extra tools but only mysword on android.

Thank you very much for this long-awaited functionality of tts.
