I am working with version 10.1.0. I am reading Genesis and the commentary tabs show which ones have comments on that particular verse. I was surprised to see that the EBC did not have anything for the first chapter. When I clicked on next comment I did get the chapter comments to come up, but I can't get it to come up again when I went to another verse even after clicking next and previous comments. Is there a setting I should be adjusting?

Hello,

Make sure the Synchronize Comments With Active Verse icon is pressed. This is the "chain" looking icon in the commentary window, shown on page 103 of the e-Sword User's Guide (press F1 in e-Sword to view the guide).

If that doesn't answer your question, then let's be more specific. Tell us what Bible Commentary you are using (EBC? Expositors Bible is abbreviated EB.) and which specific verses where comments are not appearing.

the Expositor's Bible Commentary of Gen 1:1 or so forth look like this:

I down loaded Expositor's Bible Commentary Format exe from this site and it works so I do not know why yours did not.

Has anybody else experience the same thing?

Thanks, Josh and Patchwork. I am in Gen 1:1, and several commentaries are showing the little icon to say that they have comments for this verse. The chain icon is depressed but EBC (the full tab for this says "Expositor's Bible Commentary - Frank E Gaebelein") does not show that there are comments. When I hit the "next comment" icon, I get the comments for chapter 2, and then hitting the previous comment icon it shows for the first time the full comments on chapter one, but the EBC tab still does not show that there are any comments for this verse. I can get chapter comments by hitting the chapter icon, but when I hit the verse icon again the verse by verse comments for the chapter are gone. No amount of hitting the next comment icon retrieves them, but if I go to another commentary and then back to the EBC tab I can retrieve the comments by using the above-mentioned "next comment, previous comment" sequence. Quirky. Maybe it is some combination of the operating system (windows Vista) and the phase of the moon?

Sounds like a problem with the module, since this does not occur with other modules.

We can't help you with the module because it's pirated. Expositor's Bible Commentary by Frank E Gaebelein is commercial material that should not exist in e-Sword format.

Thanks, Josh. I have the right module loaded now and it works fine. Thanks for the advice and the notice about the other EBC.
