I might add, one should choose their prefix carefully IF you plan to combine files later. I have compiled a 5 volume set, I set up the prefixes like the following, and then created individual TOPX files. Then using the T3 combine function, created a single volume.

#define prefix=1 PP #2
#define prefix=2 PK #2
#define prefix=3 DA #3
#define prefix=4 AA #2
#define prefix=5 GC #2

You see that when combined, the sort order will always be from Volume 1 to volume 5. Each prefix, table of contents and then chapter order will be preserved in e-Sword. And using the module combining function, I can also create a table of contents that lists the 5 volumes, and make its prefix so that it will be the first topic.

Hi,

I was wondering if I can add two commentaries to one another?
example: Say I have one cmt that has Gen 1:1 etc (Gen to Rev) cmt and I want t to add another cmt that has Gen 1:1 (Gen to Rev) as well.

Will It add the second cmt in the same place as the first one (Gen 1:1) Or will it just be added at the end of the first cmt?
I want to add multiple commentaries together. So that all the commentaries will be in the same place as Gen 1:1.

thanks for your help

Commentary A (comments on genesis 1:1 to Reveleation 22:21)

Commentary B (comments on genesis 1:1 to Reveleation 22:21)

You can combine the cmtx files (A & B ) into one using T3's combine feature. And both sets of comments will show for each passage IF both commentaries do not have the RTF headers included in the commentaries. If either commentary has an RTF header, then only one of the comments will be shown for any given passage.

The start of the RTF without a header:
\viewkind4\uc1\pard\ltrpar\nowidctlpar\sb80\sa40\qc\cf11\ul\scaps\f0\fs32 1Ti_1:1\cf0\ulnone\par
\pard\ltrpar\nowidctlpar\fi216\sa60\i\scaps0\fs22 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ.\i0\line\par

The start of the RTF with a header:

{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1033\deflangfe1033{\fonttbl{\f0\froman\fprq2\fcharset0 Georgia;}{\f21\fnil\fprq2\fcharset0 OLBHEB;}{\f22\fnil\fprq2\fcharset0 OLBGRK;}}
{\colortbl ;\red0\green128\blue0;\red0\green0\blue255;}
\viewkind4\uc1\pard\nowidctlpar\sl276\slmult1\qj\cf1\ul\b\f0\fs22 Mat_1:1\cf0\ulnone\par
\par
\b0 1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.\b \par

The commentary with the header--well it has the RTF header beginning with { and the rtf parameters, the fonts, the color table, etc.

Hi,

I have 2 problems creating modules with Cyrillic (Unicode chars).

1. Commentary. The mark in T3 is the same as Cyrillic char "ч" (sounds as "ch"). Their both have the same code. So that I must change all "ч" in my text (commentary). I use Russian and Ukrainian commentaries.
My question: is it possible to change the mark in T3? Or other ideas how to solve the problem?

2. Dictionary. Almost the same as p1.
If I create a dictionary with English words - all is ok. But as soon as a Cyrillic "ч" added - it is a problem - nothing to see.
My question: how to solve the problem?

Thanks

Hello first I would upgrade to T4

what is the name of the font you are using and are you sure that it is unicode

In a unicode font numbers are specific to a character  ÷ in unicode should always be ÷ a will always be a but will look different according to the font

within the font there are language areas

So examining the font would b e the first place i would start

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

It would be good to have a sample of the file you are working on.  Click the More Reply Options button below the reply editor, and you can attach a sample file.
