i up dated to 10.1 now i can not open a file all i get is exit i am also new to e-sword so it could me me help please

You might start by telling us what the operating system is of the computer you're trying to install it on (i.e. Vista, Windows 7, Mac, etc.). Next, tell us what you did in trying to install e-Sword and what, if any, error messages you got. If it's a Windows operating system, my first suggestion would be to install e-Sword as the administrator.

Hi buddy. Sorry to hear you are having problems.Can you help us by telling us exactly at what points you have been having problems. Are you able to open the e-sword program but not able to view files..or are you unable to open the program full stop. Hopefully the good people at biblesupport will have you up and running soon.
