Hi Pete,
I think I might have said it the wrong way, so I'll have a go at putting it right.

MySword is free but it is crippled to the extent of features not available on it unless a donation is made. So to this extent its not really Freeware, but actual term for it is Crippleware. The bottom line donation (I really call it a payment) required to unlock these features, from memory is US$10. If more features are required then a donation of US$20+ is required. If wishing to have the Tablet version of MySword, to unlock all the features in that will require a donation (going from memory) is US$40. If I am wrong here please correct me.

So, looking at how much one has to pay to unlock the locked features, the price of e-Sword HD severely undercuts MySword. So, from my perspective, going on a price basis, I would get all the features that e-Sword HD has at US$4.99 as where if I wanted to unlock the all the features in MySword it would cost me up to US$40.

As to what e-Sword HD can or cannot do in comparison to MySword, I don't know, and only a Bench Test can only determine that. And just a short note here, please don't get me wrong, I actually think that MySword really does a good job and as such, I like the program. But pricing factors to come do into it if one wants to unlock the other capabilities of the program.

The Deluxe version of MySword is really nice. It is worth the money I donated to obtain it. You can have up to 6 windows open at once. The windows can be any type of window that you want. I usually have 3 Bible views open and one window as a dictionary/commentary/ or book on my 7 " tablet. You could easily have 6 windows on a 10" tablet. The Deluxe version of MySword is really well done. Each window can be any type of window and they are super easy to change... just select the window and press the "B' "C" "D" or "J" button.

Almost all other tablet/smat phone that I have seen has only 1 window. I really enjoy have multible Bible views when doing devotions.

I also change to 2 windows when I teach at church. I have my teaching notes on one side and the Bible view on the other. It is super easy to prepare your message in theWord or e sword and then migrate your notes to MySword. The scripture links convert automatically. It is a very effieienct way to teach.

The windows flexibility alone makes the Deluxe version worth while. Most desktop software does not even have this kind of window flexibility. I am sure it was quite a programming effort to do what the did.

I am not sure if e sword HD will some day have more than one window. Maybe it already does.

So, the decision is largely made for you. If you have an Apple product, then go with e-Sword HD. And if you have a Droid device, MySword is the only choice that makes sense to me. I personally wouldn't run anything but those two products on my devices.

I haven't found any other products on either platform that I like--except these two.

]You can still read the Catholic books in MySword, they just aren't apart of the "Bible" in the software,.

By that criteria, MySword is the optimal choice for those who study the 道藏 or स्मृति.

Do I buy an iPad just for e-Sword HD or do I buy me a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 so to run MySword with all its features? My dilemma...

• Do I buy the Galaxy Note 10, then add in MySword and add to the cost US$40 so I can unlock the full capabilities? or
• Do I buy an iPad, just to install e-Sword HD at a cost of US$4.99?

Now, just to add to dilemma, I don't like Apple products, and I'm a real Open Source fan, and I guess that make me a Linux-Android fan as well. As to Android based mobile devices, I reckon that Samsung seems to be right up there. I happen to Like Samsung's stuff. But in saying that, I'm a real die-hard e-Sword nut (fan), even though MySword is really good.

Price wise on Galaxy Note 10 and iPad, over here in New Zealand, are pretty much on par with each other, around NZ$790 odd with Wi-Fi, and with Mobile Broadband capability its a tad more expensive, and with both its even more expensive (around NZ$990). With all that said, I really drool at the Galaxy Note 10 (Tablet), and I really have a hard time in considering which way to go as I feel on this one that I'm sorta caught between a rock and a hard place.

Any ideas from anyone on this???

I am a big Samsung fan as well.

I think the answer to your question comes down to what content is most important to you. If you have a lot of e sword premium modules that you want to be able to to use on your tablet/pad, then IPad may be the way to go if you can stomach owning an apple product.

For me, I make a lot of content for personal use that cannot be shared for MySword including my teaching notes that I create in a program like theWord or e sword. It seems like it would not be an easy thing to transfer this content to e sword HD. There may be a way for us to get some of the 3rd part modules on there. However, I am not sure about files made only for personal use.

The questions you have to answer is how you plan to use the software and what content is most important to you....

One other thing to add Stephen.

I am a big fan of 7" tablets. I can carry them easily in my coat pocket and even my shorts pocket in the summer. And they are much cheaper...

That brings up another question, is E Sword HD going to run on the soon to be released IPad mini's?

Oh sure, now I need to buy an ipad. Not the worst thing in the world though. I might hold off a bit yet though - I do most of my reading/studying at home so I don't really need it but it would be nice to have anyways.

<p>On this one the answer is quite simple. When it comes to actual real Bible study where serious cross referencing and textual research has to be done, then e-Sword itself is what I use. All of my main work is done there. For on the hop type study, as like a thought or an idea pops into my head while I&amp;#39;m on the road, then MySword on my Cellphone just really does the job. And when I get home I put those thought from MySword into e-Sword on my Desktop (currently doing a study in Ephesians).</p>

<p>Like I said, I&amp;#39;m not in a big rush, and just wait until around next year. I may go with a Galaxy SIII and the Galaxy Note 10. Here's two of our (BibleSupport.com's) commentaries that are available for download within e-Sword HD (but not in e-Sword for PC): Biblical Illustrator and James Hastings' Great Texts of the Bible.

Talk about a God-send. Over the past few years, I've totally converted over to Apple products, and never got use to the work-around with the Crossover application. Now, I can take my WHOLE library with me, on my iPad, for $5!!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! There is no better program for Bible study than e-Sword.
