I am feeling impressed to conduct some Bible related webinars. One of the things I would like to do is show new users how to use esword and how to study with it. What I envision is displaying my desktop and coaching particpants through various steps as we work through a topic. Do you think that there would be an interest in something like this? Does anyone have any experience running webinars? What is the best company to work with both in terms of quality and cost?

Maybe.

Do a statistical analysis of downloads and viewings of videos about, or featuring e-Sword, and other Biblical software on YouTube and similar websites.

Pay close attention to what is not in those videos.

Back when I looked into running an e-Sword webinar, the only way it would have been financially viable, would have been for me to charge for it. One email from Rick put paid to that idea.

You might consider as an alternative to a real time webinar, a desktop recording software that will record your desktop as you speak. When you get done you have a downloadable file that people can aquire, here or elsewhere.
Though if you wanted to proceed there are ways to do it live but I think it may be difficult to get an large enough audience together to make effort efficient. Getting the word out to those that would benefit the most might be difficult.
I would be very interested in whatever you do produce. We can learn much from one another. This would be a great way to do it.

I've created an e-Sword PowerPoint presentation which has currently almost 700 downloads, but as to actual number of people who've downloaded it I don't know. Going by that its appears to me that people generally prefer the "personal" contact with others where things can be discussed with each other and have a cup of coffee or tea with a biscuit or cake over and above doing something that is online and impersonal. However, when looking at something like Webinars or Internet conferences, from an international perspective I think its a good idea.

I somewhat remember discussion at the e-Sword Users Group at Yahoo about having e-Sword type seminars and e-Sword days, or something like that. I don't know how well they went or anything like that. On the odd occasion I ran the e-Sword PowerPoint Presentation at church with quite good success, and as a result the comments from people were very encouraging and wanting to know more about the program.

Whenever I did run the presentation I usually took with me about 20 copies of e-Sword on CD with a heap of resources (which actually came to two CDs, so that actually makes about 40 in total), and they were snapped up faster than one could sing "God Defend New Zealand" (and if it were in the US, it would be faster than one could sing "God Bless America")

You certainly presented an interesting thought and idea for discussion, which, although I don't completely agree with, yet nevertheless I like.

Blessings,
