  • Unzip the epub container;
  • Run HTML2RTF;
  • Import the RTF into e-Sword format;
The above instructions assume that the epub is text, and not images embedded in HTML.
If the epub is embedded images, then your options are to either manually transcribe the content, or print the images to PS, and then run an OCR over the PS, and manually correct the errors, before importing the content into e-Sword.

Regardless, you probably will have to spend a very long time cleaning up the text, once it is in e-Sword format.

I thought caliber converts the opposite way...i.e to epub,not from epub to another format?I find the qualuty of ebook produced with caliber a bit substandard to be honest,prefer mobipocket.But Caliber also acts as a library and the details of the files can be easily edited at any time,it also has an inbuilt ebook reader...all of which make it a handy wee tool for zilch.

Caliber converts between all of the various eBook file formats. It is, however,optimized for conversion to ePub.

He could use Caliber to convert from ePub to RTF, or even plain text.
