Need ^13 instead of ^l

See attachment in my post above, I ran my search and replace on it and I think it worked.
Blessings,
Peter

I'm scratching my head right now It only worked on part of the file I understand it not working on 1Cor 2Cor etc. but it should have worked on Joh which it did not

I did want to figure this out because I have another Greek bible right after this one and the macro eats up time that search and replace does in a minute or so

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Upload the source file? You probably need to account for characters (spaces or something else?) between the verse reference and the end of the line.

Find: ([0-9]{1,3}:[0-9]{1,3}?{1,3})^13
Replace: \1

I'd suggest two find/replaces which should fix the problem for you.

FIND: (type in a space, then ^13)
Replace with ^p (no spaces)

Do that until there are zero results. This will eliminate any extra spaces at the end of the line. It will make the next find/replace work just fine.

Then replace ([0-9]{1,3}\:[0-9]{1,3})^13
with \1 (followed by one space)

Wildcards on with both of these.

The second one will look for every verse reference (2:1, 119:176, etc...) which is immediately followed by an enter (paragraph break). It will delete the paragraph break, and insert a space after the verse reference, and then the text will be in the same line with the verse reference.

What ended up working for me is wildcards on

([0-9]{1,})^13

because of formatting I had to put a space before ^13 on one search and without on another

Replace was \1

with a space after 1

Note to Cobb didn't try your last one but it looks like it would work

what I discovered there are so many variables possible in a large file not all search are go to work on files

Using the code tag when posting steps to remedy issues *might* help with some of the problems that can arise when users taking the advice will generally just copy and paste the steps to resolve issues directly off of the forum webpage.

Here's an example below:

$ this is code % - and this is how we implement it in the comments -
$ this is code %
There's also a feature in the top left part of the full Bulletin Board editor which auto posts the code tags for you.

Hope this helps.
