As an Android user (on a tablet), I would love to see an e-Sword Droid app.  However, I tend to doubt that it will ever happen.

I will continue to use e-Sword and Logos in Windows, and Logos on the Droid...

Keep Lookin' Up !!!

e-Sword FOR ANDROID. Since this forum was begun in 2012, Rick Meyers, an independent developer has released e-Sword for Android in January 2022. These use Modules where the coding has been done in HTML format. Older modules where the coding was in RTF format, for e-Sword for the PC, with filename having the file type with the last of four letters as “x”, such as bibles (bblx), and commentaries (cmtx), do not work.

The files that work all have the filename having the file type with the last of four letters as “i”, such as bibles (bbli), commentaries (cmti). These new files are coded in HTML, and also work with e-Sword for the PC after e-Sword version 11, 12, or 13, and are also compatible with e-Sword for Apple devices such as the Apple Mac, Apple iPad and Apple iPhone. This e-Sword for Android has to be purchased, as it is provided from the Google Play store, as “e-Sword: Bible Study to Go”.

A list of the latest currently available versions of e-Sword is supplied by BibleSupport.com at http://www.biblesupp...ons-of-e-sword/

Access the website of Rick Meyers the developer at https://www.e-sword.net/ select the LINKS option, select the version of e-Sword, read the FAQ replies, and the FEATURES options. There is an android tutorial at https://www.e-sword....id/tutorial.htm From that website you will find the link to the required download module. Suggestions of how to provide more useful options can be made to the developers at https://www.e-sword.net/android/contact.htm

Hey Olaf,

I think that Fred would pretty much know that e-Sword for droid is available, and may have even downloaded it quite a while ago, as in when it was released.

I think you're a bit late in the game to let him know. Should've done it last year.

Blessings,

Stephen (Php 1:21).

Yes, APsit190, I agree with you totally, that you should have followed up your previous 2012 replies to this entry in the Bible Support forum, last year.
However, since you did not provide the follow-up to your own previous entries, on this topic, in this thread in the Bible Support forum, and because there are many people who will come across this item when looking for answers, I realized an answer could be provided.

This forum topic was begun by swirian, on 23 June 2012. The reply I provided, is a reply to many previous questions, which were asked in 2012, and repeated in later years. My reply is not out of date.
My reply was not only to the previous person in the dialogue who added their review - it applies to everyone who views the same entry in the Bible Support forum, who has the same query, and then looks to see if, in further discussion and progress of this thread, there has been a suitable answer provided to the question that was initially asked by the creator of this specific thread in the forum.

May I please remind you that the content of all topics and their contents are able to be searched for by everyone in the world, on the world wide internet. This also applies to all other topics provided on the BibleSupport.com website. For this reason, it is useful, and necessary, to provide the appropriate answer to the topic on this particular thread, even if the original topic was begun ten years ago.

Have a good day further.
Olaf Bacon.

Not really, and the reason being that the response was correct for that time. And moreover, BibleSupport members have been informed and as such have been made well aware of the release e-Sword for Droid last year. Those who may not know are either dead or no longer active, or have given up on waiting and may possibly be using some other (PUKE) product.

Remember that when e-Sword HT and LT was released, there was a call for an Android edition to be made. And at that we were informed that wasn't going to happen. Then when it was released and advertised, it was a total (nice and fantastic) surprise to all of us.

e-Sword on Kindle
The Amazon Fire, formerly called the Kindle Fire, is a line of tablet computers developed by Amazon. Built with Quanta Computer, the Kindle Fire was first released in November 2011, featuring a color 7-inch multi-touch display with IPS technology and running on Fire OS, an Android-based operating system. The Kindle Fire HD followed in September 2012, and the Kindle Fire HDX in September 2013. In September 2014, when the fourth generation was introduced, the name "Kindle" was dropped. In later generations, the Fire tablet is also able to convert into a Smart speaker turning on the "Show Mode" options, which the primary interaction will be by voice command through Alexa.

Rick Meyers, the author and developer of e-Sword for Android, has replied to a question about Amazon File Tablet at his web-site, on the Android FAQ page, https://www.e-sword....android/faq.htm

How do I install e‑Sword for Android onto my Amazon Fire Tablet?

You need to get the Google Play Store app installed onto your Amazon Fire Tablet, then you can install e‑Sword

. However, getting the Google Play Store installed requires a few steps, so check out the following web page for detailed instructions:
How to Install the Google Play Store on an Amazon Fire Tablet

The mentioned web page keeps constant updates fresh, so your new Amazon Fire Tablet will be able to access the Google Play Store, which was an option not provided by Amazon. Details are likely to be changed by Amazon because their operating system is proprietary.
For later developments planned for e-Sword for Android please view the developer’s website https://www.e-sword.net/android/
