No, the e should not be there, the extension should just be .dct.mybible

Thank You!

You are welcome. The KJVTVM and the Strongs with TVM works really well in MySword. If you set your default strongs to the TVM version it is super easy to go from the Bible view to the TVM dictionary view and then to jump to the definition of the Tense, Voice or Mood if you need to do. The back button on the droid will bring you right back to where you were once you read the TVM definition. It is very efficient to use.

Just a reminder... If there is a specific e sword file you would like converted to MySword please let me know and I will convert it and post it for you. I convert files every now and then for personal use and post them. I do not plan to convert every file on this site. I try to convert the most popular files and the ones that are requested.

Please let me know if you would like to convert/post MySword files and I will help in any way I can.
Thanks,
Peter

Hi pfpeller - I have raw text files for a bible *.conf, *.vss and raw text files that work with sword front ends on linux, windows (Xiphos or esword). Is there a way to convert those to bbl.mybible?
Thanks
Suresh

sejoel,

The only type of Bible files I know how to migrate to MySword are e sword and theWord. theWord Bible files are just text files with each verse on a separate line. If you have raw text files, they may not be that hard to get into theWord and then into MySword.

Do you have an example you can send me?

Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter
Thanks for the offer. I have two directories OT and NT, under which I have one directory for each book. In each of the "book" directory, I have one file per chapter with one line per verse with some tags. Below is Matt 1 file. I am going to look at theWord file format and see if I can convert it. Any tips would be really helpful!
Thank you!
Suresh

Hi sojoel,

Just change the extension to .txt and open up a theWord Bible file that is not encrypted in notepad and you can see the file structure. You can use notepad++ to do the searching/replacing. Notepad++ works the best for me.

You will have to remove a lot of stuff from the text. theWord Bible files have to have each verse on a separate line. There is no numbering or verse references. You have to have the exact number of verses as the King James Bible. If you skip any you have to leave a blank line.

You can see the number of lines needed from any theWord Bible file. There is also a bunch of definition text at the bottom of the file that you will need to copy in from another file and update.

You can also import an e sword 8 file to theWord using theWord importer http://www.theword.n...tools&l=english and use this as an example file.

After you format the file for theWord and you verify that it works in theWord you will then have to download the mysword migration tools from www.mysword.info and migrate the file. There is a readme that explains how to do this with the download after you extract it.

Let me know if you have any other questions and forgive me if you already knew all of that.

Peter

Hi, I'm learning my way around MySword and enjoying it so far. Have you converted the ESV Bible? I would really enjoy that, and all this converting talk is confusing to me.
