I can't seem to get the downloader built into e-Sword 10 to work. I left the program running all night and in the morning all my downloads showed 0% complete. That is how I found this site, I was looking for an alternaitve source for e-Sword downloads. I have also tried several times today to download from the built in downloader to no avail.

Does anyone know why this is?

After choosing the modules to install, did you then click Download from the Downloader Menu and click Start? If you don't click start, the download never starts and remains at 0%.

Don't feel bad, I answer this question a dozen times a week. :) I think there's a user friendly issue here.

Hi Josh,
Do you talk about the downloader in the e-Sword User Guide thingy? I know this is a crazy question, but I can't recall if whether you do or not.

I think you might have a point there, and I'm prone to agree with you.

Hi Josh
I've got the same problem but I did click Download and then Start but nothing happens. I then get a note saying the downloader is not responding. I'm running Windows 8. Don't know if that could have anything to do with it?

Hi,

Do you have another computer (with a different version of Windows) you could try using the same ISP and network that your Windows 8 uses?

Thanks Josh. I have a PC running Vista. I'll give that a try.

I have the same issue. I'm installing on a Windows 7 64 bit machine. I followed the instructions in the tutorial, but nothing happens when I click Download | Start. I have rebooted the machine and tried again, no help.

Thank you, Josh!

Clicking 'Start' did wonders!  I really appreciate your help.

Blessings to you,

I would like to know what you are actually doing because when I download and install resources, I have no problem at all of any shape or size. So in order for me to be able to help you could you please give the following information:

  • The file type you are downloading i.e., an exe, zip, or some other kind
  • The destination location, e.g., C:\Program Files (x86) e-Sword or C:\Downloads, or something else.

The more information you give beats trying to have to guess how to resolve your problem.

Blessings,
