I installed the .bblx version of this file and discovered the vss. are in serial form, rather than in parallel, interlinear form. Now I find the .zip version which, I assume would access the e-Sword module installer. If I install it again with the .zip file will I get the parallel formatting mentioned above?

The modules are the same.

All e-Sword interlinear modules are in serial format. It took me a while to get used to but now that I have, the parallel - one on top of the other - seems odd and the serial - one following the other - is so much easier. Much, much easier.

Try it. You may find you prefer it, too.
