I've spent all afternoon reinstalling the update Esword and had to reinstall bibles and commentaries.  I discovered the resource modules and installed many files, but cannot locate them in Esword.  I've followed instructions posted in Tutorials for Crosswalk/Linux, but still cannot open the files in either StepReader or Linux.

Any suggestions?

If I understand correctly, you have e-sword installed in OSX? And are having trouble installing various modules? If that is the case, copy all modules (.bblx, .cmtx, .refx, etc...) to this path:

OSX\Users\your_login\.wine\drive_c\Program Files\e-Sword\

Note that the .wine folder is hidden. In terminal type this:

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
This command will show hidden files, but you'll need to restart Finder (Apple Menu>Force Quit... choose finder click force quit).

To re-hide them, type this command:

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles NO

I was able to get the developer of E-Sword to help me with the steps I needed to install E-sword on my MAC, so I have that problem resolved.  Regarding the modules I downloaded from here, I'm not sure I understand what to do.

I've done the following so far open Crossover > Configure > Manage Bottles > Advanced Tab > Open C: Drive in Folder > Download > Select downloaded Module > run setup which installs to this destination {C:/Program Files/E-Sword/STEP/}.

When I open STEP Reader, the Module is not there.

Am I still to use your instruction and copy to {OSX\Users\your_login\.wine\drive_c\Program Files\e-Sword} ?  BTW, I'm using Lion.

Thank you!!!

Hey there,

Our modules are not visible from the step reader. Our modules should be placed in {Program Files/E-Sword/} rather than {Program Files/E-Sword/STEP/}. The modules are then visible within e-Sword, possibly in different places depending on the module type. Bibles appear under the Bibles window, commentaries under the commentaries window, topics under the Reference Library section (Tools/Reference Library), etc.

Step resources appear under the Step Reader but we don't offer any step resources. Step isn't a very convenient way to use e-Sword.

Yes, copy them to the location I mentioned and restart e-Sword. You should then see the resources. For executable resources, (those with .exe) you'll do as you've described by running the executable using crossovers (fancy implementation of wine) and the exe should place the resource in the appropriate spot.
