I am trying to download the Afrikaanse ou vetaaling bible.

In e-Sword 9.x or 10.x, go to ">Downloads >Bibles >Afrikaans >Free", Click on "Afrikaans Ou Vertalling", then, on the top menu bar ">Download >Start". You should see the file being downloaded and installed in your e-Sword program directory.

There is at least one Afrikaans dictionary. There are a couple of Daily Devotions and BRPs in Afrikaans. However, AFAIK, they are not offered on this site.

I don't know what the Afrikaans e-Sword CD/DVD that is distributed in person on the Rand contains.

Since the previous entries on this topic, extensive inprovements have been made in e-Sword for Windows. Since July 2016, e-Sword version 11.0 for Windows PC was released. New features include all new HTML-based resources, including a new Lexicon module type. There is a new Pericope feature which places section headings throughout the Bible. Most of the resources have been updated to this new format, so you may want to download the updated versions of these modules, especially the non-English Bibles as they now contain the actual Unicode characters which makes for better search results. E-Sword is now available to be loaded for Windows PC, and for the Apple Mac, the Apple tablet called the iPad, for the iPhone, and for devices running the Android operating system.

PLEASE refer to the Review for http://www.biblesupport.com/e-sword-downloads/file/2580-afrikaans-ou-vertaling-aov/ as provided 2022-08-21 by Olaf Bacon for details about the Afrikaans (1953) Bible as provided by the South African Bible Society for personal, non-commercial use, in e-Sword.

In an email received 2022-08-17, from Rick Meyers, the developer of the e-Sword application for personal Bible Study, he provided me with the following information about the AfrikaansOV free module in the download option: "You can easily go into the Download and see for yourself if the African [sic Afrikaans] Ou Vertaling is available. The Ou Vertaling is public domain, not copyrighted by any Bible society.
All of the apps have the same downloadable resources, except for the maps which are a PC-only resource.

In His service,
Rick Meyers
