Thanks for your help!  The desktop ESword version is fine.  We have recompiled the MySword version using the great perl scripts in the forum topic regarding formatting for MySword.  It converted fine and we uploaded the corrected file.  It doesn't show the bold text like the ESword version which I think makes the reading a little easier but it looks fine.  We are wanting to test the iPad version before uploading it so we don't make the mistake of assuming it looked okay like we did with the MySword module.  I tried uploading the .bbli file that was converted by the ESword conversion tool but the forum said I wasn't allowed to upload that type of file. :D  So you know, I handle all Jonathan Mitchell's tech stuff.

Peter, or anyone else,

Great day to you.  I've developed several E-Sword modules, and your instructions for quickly converting them to MySword files works well; however, I seem to lose all the formatting (proper spacing between lines, colors, bold, and Tooltip references (Scripture links).

I've never worked with the MySword authoring tools, so what would be the fastest and easiest way to get some of the formatting back into the E-Sword module-turned MySword module?  At the very least, the Scripture link (tooltips) ?

Are there step-by-step instructions for someone who is familiar with Tooltip and E-Sword, but has never touched MySword authoring tools?

Thank you,

Thomas A.

Thanks!  Changing the endings was most helpful and worked excellent!  I do have a slew of mysword files that this did not work for due to formatting issues but I now have all my favoriate translations that I work with on my Nook Tablet.

The option I usually use is to backward migrate the bblx to theWord.  The theWord file is just a text file.

In order to migrate the bblx to theWord, you have to use a program called BeST. http://www.biblesupp...ile/2524-best2/

This program only works in Windows XP or 32 bit windows 7 machines.  If you do not have one of these machines, you will need someone to complete this step for you.

You can open up the theWord bible file in Notepad++ and use search/replace to remove unwanted charachters (if there are any).

You then use the MySword migration tools to migrate the Bible to MySword.

Hello, I downloaded the program (I still have an xp) but the problem is that whichever bblx file I choose it always says it cant change the file because its protected by password. Is there any solution for that? Thanks in advance.

Hi

what are the modules you want to convert?
You can not convert premium modules. You can convert public domain modules.

If you need help, you can PM me

Hi Ariel, if you are still struggling with this issue, here's the fix:

You need download the SQLite dll from <<http://e-sword-users...Data.SQLite.zip>> and decompress/extract the file (System.Data.SQLite.dll) into your BeST 2 installation folder - usually found at c:\program files\BeST 2 Standard

Apologies: looks like that link is broken. I've attached the file you want to this post.

Hope it helps!

How to convert .bblx into .myword with Hex editing.

Basicly finding bibles in .txt format isn't so hard, a simple search on google gives you lot of hits.

I used e-Sword ToolTip 3.50 for a bible I wanted to create. It requires the bibletext to have one verse / line in order to create the bible, and ofcource the right names for the different books (as displayed in e-Sword).

Anway, I fired it up, conversion went smooth no errors. I renamed the file to .mybible, copied it over and opened it up, aaand...

Bibles verses looked like this:

\uc1\lang1053\f0\fs22 "bibleverse" \cf0\i0

There was unwanted text infront and behind the bibleverses, plus special characters such as å,ä,ö was displayed wrong.

I digged around for a solution and found NONE. Then I came up with what could be a possible solution: Hex Editing.

And, It worked! It's a bit tricky, but I wrote step to step instructions of how to do it.

You can download the Word document: -> here <-

Hi, I am having this exact same problem I was trying to access the link you listed with the step by step instructions on how to resolve this issue and it seems to be broken, could you re-post it? or have you (or anyone else) found another solution to this problem?

Hello,

I am new to the e-sword/mybible world. I'm using e-sword on the laptop and mysword on my Android tablet.  I tried converting two bblx files

LXX-BYZ - Transliterated Septuagint OT and Majority Text NT.bblx

and

Clementine Vulgate (clVulgate).bblx

by simple changing the the bblx to bbl.bible.  In the case of the last it work so so maybe 95%; however, in the middle of sentences you occasionally get weird codes inserted for example

Gen 1:9  ....Congregentur aqu\'e6, qu\"e6 sub c\'e6lo sunt.....

( this should read should be)

Congregentur aquæ, quæ sub cælo sunt

In the case of the LXX-BYZ it came out completely garbled.  Is there a way/method or tool to correct translate these.  I have used the e-sword to theWord to mysword method (MySword migration tool) with limited success on other types of files but when it comes to the bblx files the e-sword to theWord, theWord import tool often comes back saying these are protected and will not convert them.

Has anyone developed a good method to convert one to the other?

This only worked for me on a couple of very simple Bibles. It did not work on one I tried over the weekend. Thanks for the information.

A Rob, do your scripts for commentaries handle converting the tool tip scripture pop ups in e sword to the verse reference links in MySword?

Hello,

I just spent the better part of an hour reading back through the e-mail on this topic and I have a few more question the issue of conversion of bblx (e-sword) to bbl.mybible (mysword).  Since e-sword has not made an Adroid app in part due to mysowrd has there been any work to "unprotect" the bblx files so the old convert to theWord to mysword thing would work.

Thanks again.
