You asked what sort of modules we would like for e-sword.

Oh man, I have a dream for a module. Very important to me. It's personal, nothing I could release to anyone else.
Let me explain and give the vision first and then I'll go into specifics.

Have you seen how Bible study people always write in the margins? They see an alternate translation and they want that in their Bible. They are, perhaps unknowingly, trying to create a composite of translations. They might have the New King James Bible but they believe they see something better for a particular verse from another translation - so they write it in.
The paper Bible just gets all marked up and eventually it gets old, falls apart, and alas, they have to start over.

I would like a cut and paste electronic Bible. Here's how it would work.
First I would handle the copyright issues in a couple of ways. Even in my personal copy the cover page would describe what it is and what I am doing - that it is an edited copy of the Bible. It would also be legal because it is my personal copy, not for distribution. and finally, my primary copy would be the - about to be released - not copyrighted World English Bible.
So I would be cautious in the copyright issues.

Then I need editing capabilities. I want to be able to cut and paste right into the Bible. For example, if Strongs, or some other translation has an alternate rendering for a particular word or verse I might edit that into my Bible text, deleting the old and putting the alternate verse in.
I would also want the new text to go in, in an alternate color, perhaps blue - to show that it was changed and then... I would like the edit program to go into a footnote so I could explain where I got the alternate text and why I used it.

This would be a great Bible Study tool for me. We have so many great translations these days. I want to work them together a bit as I study. No more tattered marked up paper Bible but a nice clean electronic Bible - personalized.

Alternatively - I do have some experience with databases. If I knew what program to use - knew the structure a little bit, I could edit my own e-sword copy.

What do you think of all this? It's really an exciting concept to me. One other thing - I'm thinking of switching to the Google Chromebook which I think is a Linux based system. You might have additional comments about that.
Thxs and be blessed.
The Lord is certainly moving powerfully these days - as in e-sword

hi Bob Singleton,

Here is a tool I use to make Modules:
http://www.biblesupp...ooltip-tool-nt/
here is the forum about it.
http://www.biblesupp...ooltip-tool-nt/
you can also download the instructions
http://www.biblesupp...revision-21712/
With this tool you can use a public domain bible by Read bible (Module - bible- read) and it will open it up for you to edit.

You seem to be talking about what I am doing - Making my own Study Bible set. found here
http://www.biblesupp...al-study-bible/

If you make a study notes within e-Sword, you can open it up in Tool Tip Tool NT. And convert it into a commentary. (Just change the Define information. (Check out the instructions on how to make a commentary).

If you need any help to make your Study bible or any question at all please ask.

Thanks
Patchworkid

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I lovingly beseech you to spend more time studying God's Word than all other studying put together. I didn't say to not read anything else. I implore you to read God's Word more often than everything else. Let the Word of God teach you about doctrine. When it is not clear to you just keep reading. Pray and ask God for guidance and then be patient, steadfast and unmovable in your resolve to not be influenced by anyone. There are many "isms" and doctrines out there. Logically, if many doctrines disagree then the best that anyone could hope for is that only most of them are wrong. If God is the only one who is always right, (and He is), then all of the other doctrines must line up with His in order to be right. So why go anywhere else for truth? I encourage you to go to the source, your loving heavenly Father God. Don't try to rush it along by taking shortcuts. Be patient, the treasures that God has placed in his Word take time to dig out. Nobody can learn them all at once or even learn them as fast as they'd like. Just keep reading and one step at a time God's Word will be a lamp to thy feet, not a beacon for you to see afar off but a lamp to thy feet so that God can lead you one step at a time. How does a baby learn to walk? Well they don't start out running. So please be patient. Be patient with yourselves, with God and be patient with the whole process of learning because trying to rush it along will never actually speed up your learning but it can get you to take your eyes off of the next step which is the step that is lit by the lamp of God's Word.

With love in Christ,

RJayB

Thank you brother for these words of wisdom. Seriously, I have contemplated this very thing for a long time. The heart of man does not change throughout history. When many of us are thrown into prison or re-education camps the only thing we will have with us is the Christ we know experientually, not theoretically. If we cannot trust Christ to teach us His Word from His Word and the Spirit, then how will we be able to trust Him for our next breath when times are hard? When I am carried into eternity to live with Christ throughout the ages all my notebooks and study manuels are going to be left behind - only the heavenly Love resting in my heart will last: Experiential Love. Blessings. lg

Would like to see Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament (TWOT) module. I know that would be a premium module. It's at the top of my current wish list.

I would love to see by TWOT and TDNT on e-sword.  Is this a possibility?
