Hello. I am trying to find a way to synchronize the files found in My Documents/e-sword (bookmarks, journal, markup, study, topic) in my Drop Box so they will be available across multiple computers. Using this article, I managed to get my Bibles, commentaries, etc., synced but have yet to find a way to sync these other files. It would almost seem like there would need to be a way to point E-Sword to look in another folder for these. I may be missing something obvious. I'm fairly certain it would work if I told Windows to relocate the My Documents folder to the Drop Box, but I'd rather not do that if possible.

Any ideas?

Currently e-Sword won't automatically look anywhere else but my documents\e-sword for Notes files. You can manually open a Notes file form a different location but e-Sword won't automatically look there the next time.

If you're familiar with the Windows registry, you can point e-Sword to a different location for bookmarks, overlay files, Prayer List, etc. The registry path is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\VB and VBA Program Settings\e-Sword\Settings\

Again, you want to be really familiar with what you're doing before attempting to change the Windows registry.

Thanks for the reply. That would definitely be an option. I haven't started using any of the note functions as of yet (because of the fact I can't sync them) but if I end up using them a lot and opening the files manually becomes a problem, then I will try this fix. Thanks again.

Hi,

One solution would be to use Symbolic Links in your "My Documents\e-Sword" Folder.

See this article on how to create symbolic links: http://www.howtogeek...ndows-or-linux/
Or Google: "symbolic links windows 7"

Symbolic Links is a concept I'm not familiar with, but I'm glad you mentioned it. After reading the How To Geek article, I believe that may do just the thing. I'll try it later this evening or tomorrow and let you know how it turned out. Thanks!
