hI all,

Is the King James version 2000 with red letter in old testament and new any good as keeping with KJV original? I notice that it does not have thee, ye, etc (old English). Look good but I would like to know more about it from others who have used it.

thanks

Hi,
I plan to make my own personal study bible with commentary. I like King James Version. When I received Christ in 95, the Holy Spirit gave me insight from the scriptures. I like the poetic side of KJV. The pattern of 3's in there. That is why I did a little study on The Power of 3's in the Bible (Topic).

Thanks

Hey Patchworkkid,

I have found that for the most part what they did other than clean up the arcaic language they also corrected much of the wording that was out dated by definition, as well as remove some of the extra words that are not in the Hebrew or Greek Text. But they did not remove all of the extra stuff. I think it a same but I guess that they did not want to over shock people with the first round of edit. Truely it is better that the KJV but it like many other versions still has a ways to go. So yes it is in keeping with it for the most part yet it is some what differrent. And still yet it could stand to be better. I like to use it to help know who is talking (with the red letters) personally.

Anyway it is definately better than the KJV ever was no matter what anyone else may think. I have been studying Texts and the KJ2000 definatly did do better than the KJV had.

Hi Patchwork!
I am with you there is nothing like KJV I like and Third Millennium Bible keeps all the poetic beauty. I think 2000 goes a little to far and NKJB is way to far.
TMB takes out all the Archaic words keeping the poetic musical connotations that make KJ the easiest to sing that is in keeping with the Hebrew and Aramaic that was the original script of the New Testament this helps bring about the spirit of the word. I can send you a copy of Dave BausherThe Original Aramaic New Testament in Plain English it proves with out a shadow of doubt the Aramaic was the Pure letter of the new testament. I found TMB FROM YOU have you look at it? I found another unknown KJ translation that i am using to build my own-really fun and i have learn so much more doing my own.

HI Gary and others,

Thanks for your input. It made me search out the difference between the versions. (I really like e-Sword - the simplicity of it [parallel])

It is very fun to rework your own Personal Bible to study from.

thanks
