Hi Guys,

I'm new to e-Sword and have recommended it to my study group.

However, the biggest functionality it is lacking is bookmark/note syncing between devices.

For instance, I'm using e-SwordX and e-Sword LT (ios). I often use my mobile device to take quick notes or bookmark verses. But sadly there appears to be no way to transmit this work back to my desktop version of e-Sword.

I'm hoping Rick sees this and/or some programmers could develop a module to add this critical functionality.

EDIT 12/23: Here is the official answer from Rick Meyers. This method works, it's very easy, and relies on Airdrop.

Airdrop is used to share the user files between Apple devices.  Both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi need to be on to use Airdrop.

On the Mac (e-Sword X), select "File, User Files, Airdrop" from the e-Sword X menu, then select the file you wish to share and click the "Airdrop" button.

On the iPad (e-Sword HD), tap the "Resources" tab along the bottom of the app.  Scroll the "Installed" listing towards the bottom where the User Files are listed, and tap the "Airdrop" icon next to the file you wish to share.

On the iPhone (e-Sword LT), tap the menu button, then tap the "Installed" menu item.  Scroll the listing towards the bottom where the User Files are listed, and tap the "Airdrop" icon next to the file you wish to share.

Sharing the file will obviously overwrite the same on the other device, so be careful which way you are syncing!

In Christ,

~g

Hello Friends!

Good news! Here is the official answer from Rick Meyers. It's easy, relies on airdrop, and it works like a charm:

Airdrop is used to share the user files between Apple devices.  Both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi need to be on to use Airdrop.

On the Mac (e-Sword X), select "File, User Files, Airdrop" from the e-Sword X menu, then select the file you wish to share and click the "Airdrop" button.

On the iPad (e-Sword HD), tap the "Resources" tab along the bottom of the app.  Scroll the "Installed" listing towards the bottom where the User Files are listed, and tap the "Airdrop" icon next to the file you wish to share.

On the iPhone (e-Sword LT), tap the menu button (<image001.png>), then tap the "Installed" menu item.  Scroll the listing towards the bottom where the User Files are listed, and tap the "Airdrop" icon next to the file you wish to share.

Sharing the file will obviously overwrite the same on the other device, so be careful which way you are syncing!

In Christ,
~g
