I recently installed e-Sword version 13.0.0 on a new PC running Windows 11.  I've been using this version of e-Sword on a previous PC that crashed.

I set up e-Sword exactly as I've been using it for years.  However, on this install, whenever I paste a verse into Topic Notes or Journal Notes or Study Notes using "Paste into Topic Notes", the result has an extra paragraph return or hard return after the verse.  In other words, there are two lines after every pasted verse.  Screen shot below.  This is not happening on either of my two other laptops which have the same e-Sword version and the exact same setup.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks!

Steve

Firstly, in answer to your question, I have no issues. Mind you I'm running e-Sword 13 on Windows 10. But then it really shouldn't make any difference.

Now for the Fix to your problem. I just did a video of how you could fix the issue, especially if you're doing multiple verses.

Trust that you found it helpful.

Blessings,

Did you check the internal e-Sword downloader to see if any resources you have, need to be updated? Is the issue only happening with resources with .bblx extension? If so there is a need to get updated version that have been converted to version 4 format, which is html type.

Good catch.  It turns out that this issue only occurs when pasting from the NKJV!  When I installed e-Sword on this new laptop, I proceeded to download/install all my usual bible, commentary, etc., resources using the built-in e-Sword downloader and the original product key.  What other way is there to do it?  How can I get the most updated version of NKJV?

Thanks!
Steve

The problems was... the NKJV was the old rtf version 2 module and not the version 4 html type.

Add to this that the file had been renamed and so attempts to update the file failed because they were being sent to the Virtualstore.

Once these things were corrected, files moved out of Virtualstore to the e-Sword folder, all it working fine, with regard to the copied verses.

I was able to reproduce the issue using a rtf version of the Bible.
