Hi All,
With the demise of Wordsearch is there a way to import those books into e-sword?
Thanks,
Craigbert

They use one of the STEP formats. I have tried using the built in STEP reader, but it does not work.
There is a module conversion tool called Simple Bible Reader that maybe able to accomplish the conversion you require
You can download it here (download link is at the bottom of the page):

Thanks @Tj Higgins, but that is not working either.
For whatever reason the Simple Bible Reader will not "see" any of the files to open in the directory even though on the "Open Books" dialog you can select a file extension of *.DAT. It makes no sense to me.
Any other thoughts or options?
Thanks,
Craigbert

You might try selecting Step Files as the module type from the drop down box to the right of the box labeled File Name

What version of WordSearch do you have?
I have Version 12 which is the last before they were
bought out by Faithlife and everyone was to switch
to Logos Version 9 for free. I have Version 9.17 now
If you haven't upgraded to LOGOS I would recommend
it. Then you can get all your books in WordSearch to
carryover into LOGOS. From Logos it would be easy
to copy and paste your books into your editor.
To use the Simple Bible Reader, it will only work on Books
and/or Dictionaries. There is no option to convert Commentaries.

I am in the same boat. I have upgraded to LOGOS and find its "user interface" difficult. I am still using WS 12 and only go into LOGOS just to keep it updated in case WS12 ever stops working.
I am in IT and I am used to a variety of user interfaces (Linux, Mac, and Windows). So when I say I find their "user interface" difficult I mean it is...um..."unpleasant". And that is my being charitable. I am hardly alone in that camp.
I read the forum rules some time back so I would prefer not to cross any lines by going into more fully expressing my distaste for the application. I am sure the developers are all good, well intentioned individuals and I am NOT saying or implying anything about them.
For whatever reason the Simple Bible Reader won't see the *.dat files in the WordSearch library so books and dictionaries don't even appear to be an option for me unless there is some kind of trick?
Thanks.
