Hello!  Apologies if this is a dumb questions or there is a simple answer, but I am having trouble with the King James Concordance that comes with e-Sword.

In a nutshell, I use this resource to read through all the places a particular Greek or Hebrew word is used in The Bible (perhaps I am misunderstanding what this resource is supposed to include)  However, while MOST verses are always included in the KJC listing, I find that a few verses are often simply missing from the list!

Here is a concrete example.  I am currently studying the Pharisees and everywhere Strong's Number G5330 is used.  Here are three specific places this word is used that are NOT in the list presented by the KJC module:

  • Joh 3:1  There(G1161) wasG2258 a manG444 ofG1537 theG3588 Pharisees,G5330 namedG3686 Nicodemus,G3530 a rulerG758 of theG3588 Jews:G2453
  • Act 26:5  Which knewG4267 meG3165 from the beginning,G509 ifG1437 they wouldG2309 testify,G3140 thatG3754 afterG2596 theG3588 most straitestG196 sectG139 of ourG2251 religionG2356 I livedG2198 a Pharisee.G5330
  • Act 15:5  ButG1161 there rose upG1817 certainG5100 ofG575 theG3588 sectG139 of theG3588 PhariseesG5330 which believed,G4100 saying,G3004 ThatG3754 it was needfulG1163 to circumciseG4059 them,G846 andG5037 to commandG3853 them to keepG5083 theG3588 lawG3551 of Moses.G3475

Here is the KJC listing for G5330 from e-Sword - you'll notice that NONE of these verses are listed.

Is my KJC module broken?  If not (and if this is the intended behavior), is there an alternative resource I could use that is complete, so I can go through all the places a Greek or Hebrew word is used in the Bible?  While we're on the topic, if my KJC module is working as it should - why on earth would just a small subset of verses be omitted?

Thank you!

There are some errors in the KJC module: some are also in the source and others are by converting it to a module.
I think that the KJC has a accuracy of 99 % (not counting the most used words as "and, but, when,...)
And TheWord version is also wrong for having 80 KJV Occurrences instead of 100

KJC e-Sword module changes for G5330:
G5330 Pharisee, Pharisees, Pharisee's and Pharisees'

Php_3:5 should be without (2)
Joh_4:1 should be without (2)
Joh_9:13 should be without (2)
Add Joh_3:1 by Pharisees
Add Act_15:5 by Pharisees
Add Act_26:5 by Pharisee

Thank you for responding!  I'm confused, are you suggesting a fix/alternative or just confirming that there are errors?

I have just sent a suggestion to the feedback.

https://www.e-sword.net/feedback.html

There are not intentional errors for missing verses: The Textus Receptus and the KJV supporting both 100 times G5330 in the New Testament.

And "Nicodemus" or G3530 in Joh_3:1 is in the KJC.

Thank you!  I will start reporting omissions there also.

Does anyone know of another source that's better. or is the e-Sword KJC as good as it gets?

You might consider downloading this concordence as an alternative to the KJC as it contains a compete KJC

Cool, it looks like it doesn't have (the same) errors at least - thank you!
