Hi - Is there anyway in ESword to create or modify keyboard shortcuts?  Because I'm so used to windows shortcuts I accidently use ctrl-S by habit to save my study notes but it brings up search instead.  It would be great if I could change it.  Thx!  Jim

Thank you.  So if I read this right there is no shortcut to saving and no keyboard mapping -  your work is saved automatically, most of the time?  Thx!

Hello n88yanks, please notice that when you are using e-Sword for windows, and are in the Editor option for either (1) Journal Notes, or (2) Study Notes, or (3) Topics Notes, then you will see an icon, in a Toolbar immediately above your open document page. This icon has a helpful tooltip when you hover your pointer over it for a short time, for the following options; (1) Save Journal Notes; (2) Save Study Notes; (3) Save Topic Notes; depending on which editor you have open. Please use these icons, whenever you want to save your document, regularly, by moving your pointer over the icon, and clicking. You will notice that the PC will react and you will likely hear the file being saved on the disk.

While the e-Sword for windows is open, click your pointer anywhere on an open page, then press the function key F1 to bring up the e-Sword User's Guide which will have been saved, by default, to your C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword directory folder when you loaded the recent version of e-Sword from the developer, Rick Meyers, at https://www.e-sword.net/ The file is on your Resources Location folder with the filename e-sword_guide.pdf This will give you details of all the various options which were provided as at 2014 on e-Sword for windows version 10.4.

Changes since then mainly provided for HTML coding instead of RTF coding, since e-Sword version 11 (July 2016), and other details which you can read about on https://www.e-sword.net/changes.html

Thank you. So if I read this right there is no shortcut to saving and no keyboard mapping - your work is saved automatically, most of the time? Thx!

Thank you - clicking on the icon was what I was trying to get around - a keyboard shortcut keep me from having to switch from the keyboard to the mouse to save.  Thanks for the help.

I have sent a suggestion to the developer of e-Sword, Rick Meyers, to provide a quick link to Ctrl+S on the icon to the Save option, for the Journal Notes Editor, and for the Study Notes Editor, and for the Topic Notes Editor. I will let you know if this is implemented for e-Sword for windows version 13.0.1. I do not know how Ctrl+S is used on the Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android varieties of e-Sword.

+1 for Ctrl+S to be save the current document. I think this is true for mac as well.

What would be ideal is to be able to set your own hotkeys. I know there was a module for it, but I don't think it's maintained anymore due to Bret's passing.
