The installation dialogue boxes will disappear.

I've tried hustling through them as fast as possible. Got to the one where you click "install" but never past it. Everything just disappeared with the installation.

-I have downloaded the 13.0 setup file three times from a couple sources.

-I have downloaded 12.2 and 12.1 with the same result when trying to install.

-I followed some directions to uninstall my old e-sword program

*I moved my e-sword folder out of the x86 program file

*I used a CC cleaner thing to clean registry and update all drivers
*I rebooted the computer several times.
*I made sure Windows Media Player was installed and enabled.
*I uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Media Player just to be sure
-I tried installing e-sword in safe mode
-I ran the troubleshoot compatibility option and tried Windows 7 and Windows XP
-I installed other programs such as Audacity with no problems

Running Windows 10 Home, 64-bit, 8gig RAM, 445 gig free hard drive space

So, the end result is I can install anything on this computer from anywhere except e-sword, and since I uninstalled the previous version trying to make this installation work, I can no longer use e-sword at all on this computer. Wits end.

Appreciate the help. I've done or checked all those things -except to email Rick Meyers himself.

I managed to get it  installed by being quick enough clicking through the dialogue boxes. Praise the Lord! Ultimately, I need to reinstall Windows or upgrade the PC.

Just as a matter of interest, how old is your PC or laptop you're using?

My machine is 7 years old, and had to do a bit of work to it:

  • Replaced Graphics Card

  • Replaced a Hardrive and Solid State Drive with a Hardrive

  • Added a couple of extra Hardrives.

  • Added CPU Liquid cooling with a radiator with twin fans

  • Upgraded Windows three times
    • Windows 8 to 8.1 Home

    • Windows 8.1 Home to Windows 10 Home

    • Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro

Next computer I'm getting is going to be a heap more powerful than this one, and am thinking of building it into a desk.

Blessings,

Thank you APsit190. I appreciate you checking my links. I edited the file.

Gotta admit I found it quite hilarious. Couldn't help but crack up.

I know that .com works on just about nearly every website, which that extension was/is related to some of the DOS programs like copy.com and etc. But .exe just doesn't work as an extension for websites as that still exclusively belongs to Windows and MS/PC DOS. But hey! That could change one day. You just never know. ;)

My version 13.0 was working for months but suddenly stopped after downloading a couple of modules. When I closed to complete the process my laptop processor appeared to work harder. The logo appears but it’s locked. “e sword not responding” My options are close the program or wait.

After uninstalling and reinstalling successfully a couple of times, I no longer could pass the logo. However it was recommended for me to try a new profile account on windows 10. And it worked. However I do not want to be switching profile accounts. Any suggestions?

I have used e-Sword for years and love it. After upgrading to v.13.0 I have found the programmer to be endued with more patience than I.  It now takes more than 1.5 minutes to start with no indication it is about to appear. I have tried every tip i can find but it is still like God, it changes not. Help!
