Rick Meyers has provided a copy of e-Sword version 12.2.0 from https://e-sword.net/faq.html for those who had a problem with Windows Media Player.

The fix for this issue is relatively simple, which is not to make e-Sword dependent on the Microsoft Media Player.

From a Programmer's perspective, it is pretty much straight forward to have a program, such as e-Sword, to play a sound file on any media player on one sort or another. I've done that very thing myself with the Easter Calculator, of which it plays two media files, of which I demonstrated in the video below:

It is important to note this program will use whatever the default sound/media player is, which is in my case, the VLC Media Player. This erases the dependency of a particular player, such as MS Media Player.

Blessings,

Windows Media Player is updated today for Windows 10 in the App store of "Microsoft Store".
"Media Player replaces Groove Music" if you open the App then go it to the Groove Music player.

You need "Windows Media Player" in e-Sword for the play and pause buttons and to start e-Sword.
If you don't have "Windows Media Player" on Windows 10 then can you download it today as App in the "Microsoft Store" that is a part of Windows 10.
