I have the latest version as of 2022/3/14

It seemingly installs. But when I press the desktop shortcut, it does nothing. This has gone on for months I've not been able to use this and this used to be the go to Bible app on my desktop PC.

Unfortunately Windows Media Player is a dated software and will not install onto Windows 10. Even though in the settings somewhere it reads as if there, it will not install. When trying other installers, it will not install saying its a dated software no longer supported. Currenly I had to switch to TheWord Bible software as it actually installs without Windows Media Player. They really need to address this soon because im sure Esword on desktop has lost most its users because of it. As people move to Windows 11, Esword may lose yet more people.

Clearly you have not followed the instructions from the developer. e-Sword 13 runs just fine (well more of a sloth) on Windows 10 and 11.

Hello Merch777, Please see a email direct to you, with details of how to reload Windows Media Player for Windows 10 and Windows 11.

I suggest that you also browse up to the top of this page, and click on "Follow this topic" so that you are informed of replies to your forum entry.

2022-03-16.  Microsoft has a new Player in development at present. But the existing version will load if you follow the details provided by .support.microsoft instruction pages. Rick Meyers, the designer of e-Sword, also provided details on the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) link, from www.e-sword.net    https://www.e-sword.net then look for the FAQ tab.

i already tried.  i been installing software for years.  And have used esword for years. This is the first time I think there i a need to say something. It maybe something with my settings wont allow WMP to run. But not something I can undo. I just request if the dev could make a version that is not dependent on WMP so I can use e-sword again.

Esword cannot run on my version of windows. I require some settings that must remove some methods for install of Microsoft apps for this reason WMP i cannot use on my system. i have many other media players but i cant install that software. If there was some way a new version that is not dependent on WMP i could potentially use esword again.  Esword will not install without WMP and i cant install wmp on my system.

Media Player Classic is a kind of fork of the Media Player from Microsoft.

Can you install Media Player Classic? And does it help for e-Sword?

Not the zip or the portable version but the exe version.

You might want to check the compatablity setting for WMP perhaps it can be changed to a version WIndows before Windows 11

To those of you who are running Windows 11, I'd like to know how well e-Sword 13 is running on your PCs and or Laptops. Also if any of you (who are using Windows 11) encountered any issues with e-Sword 13 on it, and how you resolved those problems.

Currently I'm still on Windows 10, and won't be upgrading until I get myself a new machine.

Blessings,
