Hello,

I transferred over a 100 Bible translations to my iPad using Air Drop. I use e-Sword primarily for comparing versions of verses. For that purpose, e-Sword is perfect for what I need. However, within a day, all the modules are gone. I have not found any event that I can cause this. I’ve tried killing e-Sword, rebooting the iPad, switching to other apps - the modules are still there and it works fine. After a day or two though, they are all gone. I have tried this on two different iPads with the same results.

Deleting the app, rebooting, and reinstalling does not fix the problem either. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, don't have so much stuff on your iPad to where e-Sword HT just dumps stuff that it can't handle. So what you need to do is find that happy medium of what e-Sword HT is able to handle before it throws a wobbly on you. And having (quoting you) "...over a 100 Bible translations..." with all the other stuff you might be adding as well, me thinks that it might be just a tad way to much for e-Sword HT to Handle. Remem-ber, tablets, irrespective of the brand, ain't as powerful as a PC irrespective of the Operating System.

Blessings,

Did you try using Google-FU?

Or contacting the developer who will actually know of any limits to the amount of modules e-Sword HD can handle.

What benchmarks do you have for this? I heard the M1 and the new M1 Pro and M1 Max chips are up there with the Core-i9

I have 1000's of books in my Apple Books app without issue, so I suspect it doesn't have anything to do with the quantity of Bible translations. As a test, I air-dropped 17 translations to my iPad and a few days later, all but 3 disappeared.

Has anyone else had issues on the iPad with translations disappearing after a few days? Any other suggestions to test/try?

Following up on this issue with a solution. I was using AirPlay to xfer the Bibles from my Mac to my iPad. This is not the preferred way for this doing this. The preferred way can be found in the support document at:

https://www.e-sword.net/ipad/faq.htm

Since then, I've got all 255 of my translations working well. I use the Compare feature to a review verses in those translations.

Thanks go to the developer Rick Meyers for this solution.
