Will e-Sword work on any Android device? No. Only devices running at least Android 7.0 Nougat (which became available in 2016.)

All the modules on BIBLE SUPPORT that have been updated with modules for MAC/e-Sword version 11, which have the file type with the last letter "i", such as filename.bbli, will work on e-Sword for Android.

The modules that were coded in RTF format, for the Windows PC, which have the file type with the last letter "x", such as filename.bblx, or filename.refx or filename.topx will NOT work on e-Sword for Android.

Wonderful news! I should give it a try. I use eSword for PC regularly, and I hope Android version is as good.

 

Question: Can I use all the programs I downloaded for PC on  Android?

I bought it, but there is no way to add all of the many modules that I have been collecting over the years. If this doesn't change, it's basically limited, not to say useless to me.

All e-Sword resources are the HTML-formatted ones, so yes, BBLI, CMTI, etc.

 

I haven’t figured out file association yet, but I hope to have that implemented by the next release.  Then simply trying to open the file would import it into the app as it does for the Apple apps.

 

This is version 1, so expect to see more features as I continue to develop this new app.

• If its an iPad. No


• If its a Surface Tablet. No


• If its a Tablet with Android version 7 and above. Yes

When you go to download e-Sword, it will tell you whether or not your device is compatible or not.

I just got an e-mail from Rick Meyers to say that version 2 of e-Sword for Android is available from the PlayStore. 

Now it allows the installation of third-party modules from this site.
