I have been using e-Sword macros for many years.  However, with a recent update, I've lost the ability to utilize the e-Sword Macros is MS Word.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the macros from e-sword.net (https://www.e-sword..../2016macros.exe).  However, I'm unable to make the macros work as they did previously.  Any assistance available?

Eric, If you look on https://www.e-sword.net/extras.html again, you will notice that Rick Meyers has added an additional note, in RED letters, above the series of e-Sword Macros v12.0.0 for various varieties of Microsoft Word.

MICROSOFT WORD MACROS
If you use Microsoft Word for your sermon preparation (instead of the really cool Topic Notes editor in e-Sword), then maybe the following template will make searching and inserting Scripture easier for you. Taking advantage of the latest in Active-X technology these e-Sword macros give you all of the capability of e-Sword's Search and Copy functions. Now there is no reason to switch back and forth between applications, and "cut-and-paste".

Please note that these macros only work on 32-bit versions of Word!

This means, that if you are running Windows 11, which is (64-bit), then those Macros are unlikely to work on your computer, especially if your version of Word is also (64-bit).

Active-X has been deprecated because of security problems.

Olaf,

This is how it works:

The platform of Windows, whether its 32bit (x86), or 64bit is not the issue or the problem. The problem lies with which platform that MS Word has been compiled for, and that is only 32bit Word can run 32bit Macros. And as far as I am aware, Microsoft ain't making anymore 32bit editions of Office. So, bearing that in mind, I have no idea if Uncle Rick is going to upgrade e-Sword and the Macros to 64bit.
