This is a Bible Reading Plan (the Apple/e-Sword 11 and above editions)

By tools / Bible reading

I did download the BRPX from the user and it works good on e-Sword 13.

(no Layout trouble except in paragraph mode for Bibles that already use soft returns(semi-paragraphs and poetic style).

My objective is to load the file onto my wife's IPAD. Is there another way to load it directly, rather than posting it here and then downloading it?

If all you want to do is merely share that file with your wife, then just simply send it using either your WIFI or Bluetooth from your device to hers. Just don't ask me how to actually do it as I don't have any Apple devices.

Hope this helps.

Blessings,

Stephen (Php 1:21)

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I INSTALL THE IPAD COPY OF THE E-SWORD PREMIUM MODULE I PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED?

All you need to install your e-Sword HD module at no additional cost is to enter your Email address and "Product Key" you received when you purchased the module for use with e-Sword. If you do not have that information, just tap on the "Recover Product Key" button on the popover that prompts for this information.

DO I NEED TO BE "ONLINE" TO USE E-SWORD HD?

No. E-Sword HD is an "offline" app. An Internet connection is only needed for downloading the app itself, and any additional modules you wish to install.

WILL E-SWORD HD WORK ON ANY IPAD MODEL?

No. Only iPad models running at least iOS 12.0 (which is available for all generations of iPads built from October 2013, e.g. iPad Air.)

HOW DO I MAKE MY OWN MODULES FOR E-SWORD HD?

There is a lot to it, but hopefully we can make it easy for you. The following steps should assist you in this endeavor:

STEP #1 — e-Sword. You need to have a PC with e-Sword 11.0 installed on it. You can download that from here: https://www.e-sword.net/downloads.html

STEP #2 — Content. There are thousands of user-made modules already available for e-Sword which can easily be converted for e-Sword HD. Join the e-Sword User Group where you can find what you are looking for, or if it doesn't already exist there are also tools by which you can create them! The e-Sword User Group is here: http://www.biblesupport.com/

STEP #3 — Convert. After you have downloaded the e-Sword module(s) you wish to convert for use in e-Sword HD you will need to run them through the e-Sword PC to iOS User Module Conversion Utility. You can download that from here: https://www.e-sword.net/extras.html

STEP #4 — Transfer. The final step is to move the new module(s) onto your iPad. You will need to have iTunes installed on your PC to accomplish this. Detailed instructions on moving files onto your iPad using File Sharing are here: https://support.apple.com/kb/HT4094

STEP #5 — Restart. To load the new module(s) you will need to restart e-Sword HD if it is already running. During the startup process e-Sword HD will pull the module(s) into its sandbox and load them. If there are any problems with a module it will be deleted!

WARNING!!! When you connect to the iPad with File Sharing you will see a bunch of files. Leave these alone as these are your user files! You can certainly back them up if you want, but do not delete them! Also, do not copy any files that were not created with the conversion utility as they will be ignored by the app and this directory is backed up to the iCloud so you could run out of space there!

Hi Jon,

My guess that the brpi (Bible Reading Plan) file is simply a home made one and that GWSword User simply wishes to add it onto his wife's device. When it comes to Apple devices is it possible to simply send a file from one device to another using Bluetooth?

Blessings,

Thanks JPG. I followed the link to the instructions on using ITunes to transfer the file. That worked.

Use iTunes to share files between your computer and your iOS or iPadOS device

You can copy files between your computer and apps on your iOS or iPadOS device using File Sharing.

Before you begin

If you're using macOS Catalina or later, use the Finder to share files between your computer and your iOS or iPadOS device.

Instead of File Sharing, consider using iCloud Drive, Handoff, or AirDrop to keep your documents up to date across all of your devices.

iCloud Drive lets you securely access all of your documents from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC. No matter which device you're using, you'll always have the most up to date documents when and where you need them.

With Handoff, you can start a document, email, or message on one device and pick up where you left off from another device. Handoff works with Apple apps such as Mail, Safari, Maps, Messages, Reminders, Calendar, Contacts, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. Some third-party apps are also compatible.

AirDrop helps you share photos, videos, websites, locations, and more with other nearby Apple devices.

What you need for File Sharing

See which of your iOS and iPadOS apps can share files with your computer
  1. Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
  2. Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer using the USB cable that came with your device.
  3. Click your device in iTunes. Get help if you can't find it.

  4. In the left sidebar, click File Sharing.

  5. Select an app to see which files are available for sharing in that app on your device. If you don't see a File Sharing section, your device has no file-sharing apps.

Copy files from your computer to your iOS or iPadOS app
  1. In iTunes, select the app from the list in the File Sharing section.
  2. Drag and drop files from a folder or window onto the Documents list to copy them to your device.
You can also click Add in the Documents list in iTunes, find the file or files you want to copy from your computer, and then click Add. iTunes copies these files to the app on your device. Choose only files that will work with the app. Check the app's user guide to learn which kinds of files will work.

Copy files from an iOS or iPadOS app to your computer
  1. In iTunes, select the app from the list in the File Sharing section.
  2. Drag and drop files from the Documents list to a folder or window on your computer to copy them to your computer.
You can also select the file or files that you want to copy to your computer from the Documents list and click "Save" then find the folder on your computer to which you want to copy the files and click Save.

Open shared files

On your iOS device, you can open the files from your computer with the app that you chose for File Sharing.

You can't access these files from other apps or locations on your device. You can see the list of files in the File Sharing section of iTunes when your device is connected to your computer.

Back up shared files

When iCloud (or iTunes) backs up your device, it backs up your shared files as well.

If you delete an app with shared files from your iOS device, you also delete those shared files from your device and your iCloud or iTunes backup. To avoid losing shared files, copy the files to your computer before deleting the app from your iOS device.

Delete a shared file from your iOS device

To delete a file you copied to an iOS or iPadOS app using File Sharing, follow these steps:

  1. Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
  2. Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer using the USB cable that came with your device.
  3. Select your device in iTunes. Get help if you can't find it.
  4. Select the app from the list in the File Sharing section.
  5. Select the file that you want to delete in the Documents list, then press the Delete key on your keyboard.
  6. When iTunes asks you to confirm, click Delete.

There might be other ways to delete files from an app. Read your app's user guide to find out more.
