Hello!

 

I am a long time user of e-Sword (first for Windows, now X for Mac), and am now ready to try my hand at creating and sharing resources.  I have created content for a reference book / devotional for Psalm 119.  What would you recommend for both creating and distributing such content?

What you want is a reference book (except if you want a daily devotion about Psalms 119 only)

You can use the commentaries of that you can download from the e-Sword program.

I recommend  Brown-Driver-Briggs' Hebrew Definitions dictionary.

 

First: use Bible translations that are not copyrighted and marks the acrostic(alphabetic) verses in Psalm 119.

And use a Hebrew source with Strong's Numbers.

Psalm 119 used the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet as first letter blocks of 8 verses,
So Psa 1:1-8 have 8 verses that each start with the letter Aleph א
Psa 1:9-16 have 8 verses that each start with the letter Beth ב

22 letters x 8 verses with the same letter = 176 verses.

 

To use your example in Psa 119:160
The first letter is R ( ר Resh) and the first word is "Rosh" that means "head, top, beginning, chief, best or sum".
Note the word "head" is also the symbol in Porto-Sinaitic script (ancient Hebrew script) for the letter R(Resh).

"Beginning" is connected with "forever" or "for ever" in the same verse.

 

KJV Cambridge Paragraph Bible 1873 (not the usual KJV) splits all the verses of 119 in two parts as I do in my translation.

 

Psa 119:160  (ר) Thy word is true from the beginning:
And every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
