I may be wrong and it could be a function of my browser, but if I have your website open on mor than one tab, I must close each one.

It would be nice if I could sign out on one and i am signed out of your website.  Often i sign our of your site on one tab, not knowing i also have it open at another.  Then I may discover a couple of days later I was not signed out.

Is this by your design.  Or is it a function of my Edge browser?

Thanks

Usually if you have more than one tab open, your web browser will ask you should it close all tabs or to save the tabs when you exit the program. I think that this would be the case for Edge (I use Firefox as the basis of my answer).

The Bible Support website does not limit access to a particular member only once. You could access the site on multiple different browsers, and tabs, as a guest, at the same time. You can then browse, freely. However, if you want to download something, then you have to login on one of the accesses.

Immediately after you login, you should notice that, at the top right corner, you will see an indication of your username, and the "log out" option. This is done intentionally, by design - you need to Sign Out of each website into which you have login with your username and user parameters. For example, if I experience a power break, the link to the internet will be broken, however, when power is restored, I will find that the access to the previous webpages is restored without having to re-initiate a new login. So biblesupport.com does not necessarily time-out a user after a pre-set period of seconds or minutes, who is not noticed to be moving around the pages.

Please use the Sign Out option, on each tab access, on all the browsers, after you have completed your use of the website.

Regarding the need to SIGN OUT of your active access to biblesupport.com please also view the following topic
www.biblesupport.com/topic/1066-sign-out-timer-and-chat-issue/

Please read the advice of Josh Bond, who designed the Bible Support web site.

Just by pulling the plug on your active LOGIN to Bible Support, without using the option to Sign Out, will not make the login close, if you have the "remember me" option selected. This has been proved by my experience in South Africa, where we experience power cuts to suburbs on a daily, and nightly occurrence. If I ask my windows browser to reopen previous entries, then I find that my access to Bible Support is still active, just where I was previously busy. This occurs both on Firefox browser, on Firefox Developer Edition, and also on Microsoft Edge browser.

So please, while you are in the process of creating an active link to www.biblesupport.com - take the time to actually move your pointer over the "Remember me" option, and unselect the "remember me" option. This has no effect on the option to allow your browser to keep your saved passwords, handy for your later re-use. Then, save your work before Signing Out. And allow the www.biblesupport.com website to provide access to users, without keeping unused accesses live.

As far as I am aware all web browsers have a built in password manager. I know that regarding the three major we browsers:

  1. Firefox
  2. Edge
  3. and Chrome

have password managers, where passwords can be saved and websites stored.

I use them because it saves me time having to manually type in my username and password for those websites, such as this one. Moreover, when having multiple passwords for each website, the password manager really come in where it saves you the hassle of trying to remember a password for a particular site, as it loads it up and automatically signs you in. Something I like doing. Call me lazy, but I just like the convenience and not worry about remembering passwords.

Blessings,
