Please help.

I only had files in my Documents backed up.  I'm not sure I have access to the Program files.

Thanks

Your JLNX file should be placed in the e-Sword folder in your Documents folder. It is not to be placed in the e-Sword folder in Program Files. This is true also for your bookmarks, study notes, etc.

Yes, I moved it over to my new computer the User files.  I tried to import and nothing happens.

I'm wondering if I also had to copy the Program files found in Program files (x86).  I'm pretty sad because I would have lost of my notes on the book of Isaiah.

To clarify, I had backed up all of my user files so I have access to those files but when I newly install e-Sword in a different computer and try to import my journal file including my markup file, it doesn't work.  My journal notes do not show.

Also, I tried opening up my Journal file "with e-sword" so now an esword icon shows up as the file.

There shouldn't be anything you have to import. If you place your e-Sword user files in C:\Users\[username]\Documents\e-Sword they should just automatically show up the next time you restart e-Sword. Are you sure that you are putting the files in the right place?

You don't have to copy anything out of the Program Files folder if you have reinstalled e-Sword or installed e-Sword on your new computer. All you have to worry about is the files in the folder I mentioned above.

2KB might be a pretty small file. If you think that you should have a lot of journal notes then maybe something bad has happened to the file.

A blank .jnlx file is exactly 2KB, so lpetit39 you need to locate your backup that is larger than 2KB.

Just because your computer crashed does not mean you lost all your data on the hard drive. The drive can be used as an external drive in an appropriate docking station. For example Link to Amazon

Even if the hard drive was corrupted your data will not necessarily have been lost forever. There are file recovery tools, or companies that offer data recovery. It depends how valuable your data was to you.
