I want to include some images in my commentary on Daniel 2 (the Image Dream).

What is the right way to do this so I get the desired results?

I have set the wrapping style to top and bottom.

On the Saving Options tab, I left "Embed data in document",

Save as type JPEG

Resolution is 240 dpi

Compression quality 75%.

When I save the commentary, and look for the image, it is not there (even though it is always present in the .RTF

If I save the RTF and exit, and then resume, the selections on the Saving Options tab vanish, and I have to select them again (JPEG, 75%)

But even so, I do not get images in the CMTX.

What am I doing wrong? Should I be selecting Export Image and embed file reference? How does that work?

I did not find anything about this in the excellent documentation, which I am extremely impressed by. I am well along in my Daniel commentary!

Many thanks.

Images can only be used in Topic Modules and or Map/Graphics modules they cannot be used in any other type of modules.

You can consult the e-Sword Tooltip Users guide for how to use images with Topic Modules and or how to create Map and Graphics modules

e-Sword version 10.1

The CommentaryDictionary, and Devotion views can now display pictures, so modules can now be created with pictures in them.

There appears to be some issue in T4 with it requiring certain settings.

For a .cmti module

It will display both .png and .jpg images.

Image attributes, Layout setting of all image to "Top and bottom" seems to scale better than "In Line" setting.

Other items checked on that tab were.

"Move object with text"

"Left"

There aren't any special settings for it in the Modules(4) menu

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the .cmtx module the only setting to check on the Modules(3) menu was "Include RTF Header"

Again the Image attributes, Layout setting of all images to "Top and bottom" seems to scale better than "In Line" setting.

Other items checked on that tab were.

"Move object with text"

"Left"

version of T4 I used was 2020.05.01 11:23

I guess I misunderstood what was meant by these lines in the CMTX header:

CHAPTER 3: HOW TO TURN TEXT INTO E-SWORD MODULES
P a g e 48
ToolTip NT User’s Guide, Copyright © 2013 by BibleSupport.com
version: This field controls how e-Sword displays the module for compatibility purposes. Set this equal to “1” if the e-Sword module does not contain images and/or hyperlinks. If the module contains images or hyperlinks, set version equal to “3”.

I have done so, but it does not seem that any of the images I inserted are showing up in the CMTX modules. Of course, in TOPX they show up just fine, and so one solution is to move over to that. But it seems to me that I should be able to get the desired results with these selections. Wrapping style is changed to Top and Bottom,

Embed selection is "data in document" JPEG is selected, and size is 75% at 120 DPI

Is this supposed to work, or not? A previous comment encouraged me to ask again. I am using the latest, I believe: 2020.04.11

Problem solved.

Just the exact settings were needed as mentioned http://www.biblesupp...way/#entry41607

for cmtx modules.
